Post subject:  Thailand traveler looking to expand his passport

I have traveled to Thailand on a number of occasions, mostly Pattaya. I love it there but there is the one issue of 22 hours in the air and losing 2 days.

I am looking for something closer to the US and peoples opinions. I am quite fond of the latina look, light to dark.

I have read about Costa Rica and Columbia. What I am looking for is a good hard mongering trip. I am not one to see the sights, my trip is solely to have the fun with the ladies.

I also like a compact scene, if there is one. Getting in a taxi to drive here and there is not too appealing to me.

Any suggestions?

Hotel Del Rey is ground zero in San Jose, CostaRica
You could stay there for the wild times
or alternately you could stay at the Sportsman's Lodge for a more laid back scene and there are Chica's on the property
and only a $2 taxi to the the Del Rey and Key Largo Bar hot spots

I've been to Thailand about ten times as well as many other parts of Asia, some multiple times. I was last there in October. I'm finally in the mood to experience another place and Costa Rica seems worth it. It's a cheaper flight. I am only spending seven days instead of the usual 10-16 days in Asia, so saving vacation time, too. Join me! I'll be at the Dunn Inn from Feb 9-16th!!

SJO is a reasonably compact scene but our strong advice is--taxis after dark and usually on Sunday too. Not a horrific crime problem but taxis are cheap insurance. Why on Sundays? Because most of the decent folk are in church or with their families, leaving the streets to you and the bad guys.

Two time CR visitor in 2010. Great time! The Dunn is nice but I do love the SL for sheer convenience.

Going to Thailand in March part for work, but will have some free time. Am curious how the scene works there? Where is Pattaya - near Bangkok?

Either post or PM - thanks!
