I am going to Costa Rica for the first time on January 19. I will be staying solo in San Jose on Wednesday, then meeting up with some friends on Thursday to drive to Los Suenos for about 4 nights for fishing and extracurricular activities. I will be in San Jose all day Wednesday and am staying the night at the SL. I was wondering, being a newbie, what should I plan on doing with this day? Should I just hang around the hotel and meet ticas, or hit a MP? I am fluent in Spanish so could get around if need be. What would you do with one day/night in San Jose? Thanks guys.

You could easily do both.......but you have to bring a note from your doctor

Since you're on a short time frame, no sense getting elaborate with your plans... In the morning you can walk a couple blocks to New Fantasy and have a session with sauna, massage and FS in the morning, then enjoy the SL girls in the afternoon / evening... If you don't see anything you like at the SL, the Del Rey is a 5 minute walk from the SL... The only limit is your stamina...

SL has a number of nice working girls who like to hang out and ply their trade. Relax, have a few drinks at the bar, and pick out a chica who appeals to you. After your session, hang out, or go explore one of the nearby MPs, visit one of the local gringo watering holes or pay a visit to Hotel Del Rey. You can dine either at SL, Amistad, Dunn Inn, Chubbs or a number of other nearby restaurants. Late night, my favorite spot to meet p4p girls is Key Largo...but it doesn't get rolling until 11:00 pm. If you have time the next morning before your buddies arrive, try an early MP session or one of the morning/early afternoon girls who frequent SL.

Thanks for the info. Another question, is it fairly safe walking this area during the daytime? Having read some of the posts, cabs are recommended, but a five minute walk seems ridiculous to take a cab.

There's a far less probability of getting robbed or assaulted during the day, so it is "relatively" safe to walk around Barrio Amon and the gulch. At night, definitely take a taxi.

Thanks for the tips. I was also wondering about Jaco. Some of my friends have said since I will be in San Jose for a day I should consider recruiting some ticas to come to Jaco. Based on what I have read, it seems that the Beatle Bar would suffice for us and taking girls from San Jose is a bad idea. What are your opinions on that? Also, we are renting a house at Los Sueños; will there be any problems bringing girls to the house from Jaco? I seem to recall reading on here once that Los Sueños is not exactly chica friendly...thanks again.

As far as where you are are staying... I do not know, but a few bucks to the guard might work

This is a normal agenda for me there: Cocktails and lunch at the SL, smoke a cigar, stroll over to a HLH, have a beer, choose a partner or two, get a massage with a HE plus, stroll over to the Dunn Inn for Happy Hour, consider having dinner there as its easy. Take a cab back to the HDR for another POA. Remember to bargain wisely with the girl I would choose; BBJCIM, multiple positions, for less than cien. Take her back to the SL, take care of business, pay her, show her to the door, have a nightcap, go to sleep, order the Americano Breakfast he following day, go meet my friends.

How long is the walk from SL to Bar Idem? Thanks again for the ideas and help, this forum is a great resource. Looking forward to my trip.

Takes about 15 to 20 minutes. But you have to go after 3 P.M. and plan to take a taxi back if it is dark when you come out.
For one day you may be better off sticking to New Fantasy, HLH and the SL.
