Hi,

Just booked the flight to my first trip to CR. Will be staying at HDR from 10/1 to 10/4

As you can guess from my moniker, I am from India (New Delhi to be precise). Are there brownies like me there at HDR or would I be sticking out like a sore thumb?

I have a question for you....what do you guys take for upset stomachs in India....?

Is there any over the counter product you recommend?

Depends on what's the cause. Many of the symptoms are relieved by Hajmola (available at every general store) but I would recommend seeing a doctor. Especially if you are visiting India.

Welcome to CRT. As an Indian you may be mistaken for a Tico especially if you keep your mouth shut.
The security guards and some red neck mongers at the HDR could think you are a Tico and they sometimes could eye you suspiciously or be rude. They usually realize their mistake and back off.
Generally if you dress neatly and behave you should have no problems with anybody especially the girls.
Plenty of friendly mongers everywhere and rudeness is more the exception then the rule.
Have a good time.

There are a number of Indian guys that come down from the states. I have never heard of them having any issues.

Hajmola.....OK...does it have small amount of anti biotic in the solution?

there is similar product in Costa Rica...the name escapes me at the moment....but that stuff works!...you should pick up a bottle of it.

anyway, enjoy your trip and make sure you drop by some of the happy hours at places like the Sportsman Lodge and Dunn Inn....

maybe have one of the veteran old time residents take you on a Massage Parlor tour...hunt for 'diamond in the rough' stuff

I don't believe there is any anti-biotic in that. Just walk into any pharmacy and the pharmacist there will be able to tell you what you need.

How far is Sportsman Lodge from HDR? Can I pick someone up there and bring back to my room?

Thanks again.

Would recommend staying at the Sportsmen's Lodge.
Plenty of friendly veterans there always willing to help out a newbie!
It would be a much better choice than the HDR IMO.

Have fun,
