How many non-smokers hate the cigarette smoke at the BM and Casino. Because of the smoke I will be staying at CRT Properties like the Amistad (2/5-2/8).

I agree Chilimike, I stayed at the HDR from Dec.29th to January 3rd, hung at the BM every night and the Casino there and the smoke messed me up. I still have laryngitis and coughing up phelgm every day since. I am sure it was from the second hand smoke and not from the massive quantities of DATY!!! LOL!!! Anyhow, I cancelled all my future stays at the HDR and will try some of the CRT Sponsors like the Amistad and spend most of my time in the MP's to avoid the constant smoke. I will hang at the SL for the Super Bowl Party though. Sounds like a must do!!!

All these place would do well to put in exhaust fans in advance of The Rodent's Presidency. No, I don't know anything for sure but if smoking bans can happen in France, they can happen anywhere, and a little prevention/pre-emption can stave off punitive actions. This from a life-long smoker who's equally bothered by those venues.

Come on guys don’t be haters. In the contrary, God Bless the smokers for contributing to Social Security. Because as we all know, they won’t be collecting on that.

But on a serious note, I don’t get it either. It is an accepted notion that smoking and being overweight are a major killer but guys that supposedly are into chasing poon and having a great time are just committing suicide one cigarette at a time.

I personally don't mind it.
I'm a social smoker at best. I guess after enduring the Japanese in Thailand I'm prepared for anything. Those guys sit in groups of 4-5 in a bar that is shoulder to shoulder and has no air flow, and just light up one after another until they leave.

Indirect cigarette smoke has never bothered me.

Oh boy am I the bad boy here. I quit smoking for quite a while untilI I went to a building meeting in the high rise I'm in and saw all the old farts who were my age bitching about smoking. I realized I've been through this reefer madness and I enjoyed smoking. It relaxes me. So I started again.

Yes, I know the danger, but I know the dangers of mongering too and there are some things that are worth the risk. Yes there are lifestyes that can lessen the effects of smoking and a genetic factor. I also got suspicious when I realized that most anti-smoking ads and anti-smoking product commercials are sponsored by tobacco companies. They also sponser the reasearch which produces anti-smoking stats. In otherwords they have covered themselves to make money on both sides.

Since I'm a baby boomer, getting up there with not too many really productive years left I want to enjoy the things I enjoy.

As for the dangers of second hand smoke, it is an irritant to people with respiratory illness. But it does not cause respiratory illiness. This propaganda has made big bucks for the AMA, but it is also a statical impossibility. If this was the case people who don't smoke and hung out in bars over the years would have a similiar rate of illiness to the people in those bars who do smoke. They do not and it is not even close. I once kept those stats as a profession.

However since it is an irritant even to healthy people, I agree that non-smokers should have a smoke-free area. But certainly a place as big as the HDR should also have a smoking area. And I bet the smoking area is where all the good action is going to be. We might not live longer. That's not my goal. I just want to enjoy it as much as I can.

Of course anti-smokers think they are doing me a favor by trying to get me to quit. Actually I am dong them a favor because the exceptionally high taxes smokers pay for their product gives non-smokers many benefits and might even help pay for a national health insurance policy, and I am willing to pay those taxes.

I beleive that people who orient themselves to eternal life never live at all. I also beleive that I am doing non-smokers a favor because I am going to be leaving them a place in a senior citizen facility. Those places are soon going to be hard to come by. They already are. I have seen many senior citizen facilities, and if this is the reward you get for living too long, I don't want it. By the way, senior citizen facilities are not chica friendly.

Lomo,

Dude. I'm not going to preach, but if you had ever watched someone dying of lung cancer, you would never smoke again. It is the most painful, torturous death you can imagine. Imagine suffocating for weeks or months on end as you are kept barely alive (but conscious) on a respirator, gasping trying to get air into your lungs which are filled with cancer and cannot take it.

I recently watched my mother die of this from smoking for 40 years. You do NOT want to get lung cancer. I'd take any form of VD over any day of the week, i'd rather be burned alive. It's that bad.

I can't stand it, and prefer girls who don't smoke.

I never smoked, but my mother did like a chimney when I was a K*D.

Trust me also you don't want to end up with cancer, and you certainly don't have to be a smoker to end up with lung cancer.

Bill

I have watched it. I was forced to by someone who was trying to get me to quit. It was frightening. But so are many other ways to go. Most in fact can be very horrible. You are not going to get away from it.

But the whole thing is this is my choice. I know the possible consequences. If you really think it affects you then make a place for people like me because there are many of us. But don't throw us out. Or better yet let one of us make our own place where we can do whatever we want and you don't have to go there if you don't want to.

The problem is smokers, yes, but mainly inconsiderate smokers and venues that don't really try to use appropriate venting methods or sectioned-off areas. Both bring the shit down on all of us.

EXACTLY :!: :!: :!:

I have lightly smoked my whole life. Some people are too freaking stupid to smoke in public. I am serious. Should make these idiots get a license to smoke in public. You should always be aware of the people around you and be well aware of where your smoke is going. From the ashtray to the exhaled smoke. Not rocket science. Just common sense. Probably are cockblockers also
