Post subject:  Total NOOB questions

yep, you've got another one here. I've done some b.board reading and wanted to know about the following, if you'll all be so kind!

1) Do the chicas do anything once a deal is made, for their safety, like call home or signal to the bartender, etc? ie. I want to expect it, otherwise I'll assume they've figured out I am a mark!
Also in the hotel room or taxi?

2) Anyone ever heard of http://www.hotelaranjuez.com? any reviews? Do they have a guest fee, or a hatred of the girls?
I am staying there on Halloween night as part of a pre-packaged deal... boo.. but will try to hit the SL party. Yes, I will get a VIP CRT first.

3) I am 30, look 25, and found this site while looking up info on eco-tours..
i) it will probably show on me, and in my room, that my main purpose was an ecotour. ie. the girls will not think I'm a successful businessman like a lot of others.
ii) Here (Canada) a lot escort ads prefer mature gentlemen.
Will either of those things, style/age, be an issue? I *will* have the dinero i need...

4) My main questions for a girl would be: when was her last client, has she ever had a baby, how clear (spot/bruise/redness free) is her skin down there/all over? Will she allow video?
Suggestions on how to ask these to her.. and do you think they'll be honest in their answers... more or less honest than in the US?

travel
6) Can I bring food (chocolate bars, energy bars) into CR? and Would i want to, or is it cheaper to buy there?

7) Do I need vaccination records with me? I am a born-in-canada guy.

8- What kind of footwear would you guys suggest? runners, sandals, cheap/casual dress shoes?

9) Anyone ever fly in on TACA/LASCA and thru San Salvador.. good/bad?

About me:
Looking to break out of my shell.. not yet a monger, have sporatically dabbled in P4P in montreal and toronto on birthdays etc. Was looking at tours and CR info, stumbled on your fabulous site, and figure I should try to truly enjoy all the country offers! :D
My trip will be 1-2 nights on my own, then plans for a week, then halloween, then the eco tour, then 2-3 nights on my own in mid-nov. All SJ based.

ps. I really tried searching threads first!
Sorry this post is so long - but you gave me a lot to think about!

And TIA!

Welcome to the board. Become a member so you can enjoy the many benefits and discounts. On to some of your questions:

1) No. What goes on between you and a chica is between you. Maybe at MP's they let someone know they are busy or whatever.

2) That hotel is mentioned on this board but not much. If you will be at SL for the Halloween party, that's all your gonna want to do that night anyway. There's a good crowd of guys making it for that party

3) Being on the younger side of things is a good thing. "Nuff said..

4) Do you know spanish? If you are inclined to ask those type questions i.e. straight monger type questions, I'd suggest you work those questions in gradually. If you don't speak spanish asking her the status off her puss might be off putting..

6) Yes
7) No
8) Wear the same shit you do normally (whatever that is) unless your hiking one of the volcanos or whatever..

Welcome to the board, check your PM's..

Rubbers & Lube............ All you need..... Seriously, call the hotel and ask if they allow guests, or companions, and is there a fee. No matter what you read or hear about what goes on in CR, until you experience it, the visions in your head will not be close to reality...... On my first trip had I not paid for fishing I would have blown off my plans and stayed in SJ for the 5 days. We were schooled on the plane ride from Dallas on what to do, wher to go and what to pay by some veterans, but once you are in that setting sensory overload occurs the first time. I would highly reccommend using POPS for his wingman service. We are coming back for a 10 day trip in January and will use his services for the 1st day, well worth the $30.00 if you are a CRT member.

Thanks to Cujo already.. that was fast.

One more, the elusive #5)
How do you tell them apart, Nic/CR/DR/etc.?

(seriously)

Skin color but mostly by the way they speak, accents or choice of words.

Visually there are subtle differences but also noticable. Tells you a lot huh?

Asking a girl where she's from works too...

I have not found there to be any signal calling going on, like a third base coach. Is it possible she gets a call from the family? May want to keep an eye on that. It may be the leave early excuse so don't pay upfront.

2) Anyone ever heard of http://www.hotelaranjuez.com? any reviews? Do they have a guest fee, or a hatred of the girls?

Wow, ecohotel, guess you need to shoot your loads in the garden. So help here.

All you need is money and you're Brad Pitt with Bill Gates bankroll hot.

Last client don't know if I would ask, possibly she will lie (only you papi, business is bad, etc). Baby, they usually answer. Bruising, would raise an eyebrow, video, no problem. They will try to make the answers best for you so it works to their advantage when negotiating.

6) Can I bring food (chocolate bars, energy bars) into CR? and Would i want to, or is it cheaper to buy there?

Yes you can and it is more expensive. Be careful with anything containing seeds.

7) Do I need vaccination records with me? I am a born-in-canada guy.

No, just money. :D

8- What kind of footwear would you guys suggest? runners, sandals, cheap/casual dress shoes?

Gym shoes and casuals are good

9) Anyone ever fly in on TACA/LASCA and thru San Salvador.. good/bad?

No help

Here is the newbie bible in case you have not found it. The more reading you do, the more rewarding your experience will be.

JOsie, thanks.. I've looked it over, and will keep studying it and the other NEWB pages until I board the plane.

Just booked my ticket, decided to start on a saturday 24th, was getting the same low price.
Will try to book SL, as I've read it's the best way for a first-timer to start.
Only 1 fun night before 'obligations' for a week, then will enjoy one night at halloween, ecotour 2 wks, and then 3 more nights to play. Nicely spaced, will feel like 3 heavenly trips!

ps. Those last 3 nights, I believe you'll be around SJ too? 14-17 nov (See, I've been reading  )

thought of another Q -
How do you protect your other money after payment when you're in an MP shower?

g25591--Congratulations for having found CR and more particularly, this Board so early in life. No Membership pitch 'cuz you said you're gonna join (BTW, you can pick up the card here at Hotel Little Havana--as soon as you join, print out the map--it's invaluable).
About question #2--look in here at Post #2: www.costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23303 Not a problem because you have at least 2 good options: (1) There's MPs (daytimes) and night clubs (later in the evening) and (2) Motels aka ST hotels.
Not competent to answer the other questions BUT Sportmen's Lodge for Happy Hour is a "near-must" experience--don't be shy about approaching anybody you see--of course you don't want to cock-block them either. Brother Ilv4ply did you a solid by suggesting you hire Brother Pops as a pro wingman--not a cost, an investment. Shoot him a PM.

I forgot about Pops, met him, good guy, and he is eco friendly (economically speaking, he knows the scene).

Some MPs (NF) have a little locker in the room you session in. Upon request, the girl will go get the locker key from the mama- or papa-san, whereupon you may choose to lock your money and ID in there while you shower/sauna/etc.

Personally I usually take my wallet (a Slimmy travel wallet) with me to the shower. Carry a small plastic shopping bag or Baggie in your pocket -- that will keep it dry if there's nowhere dry to place it.

You've received good answers to most of the questions but I want to add to 2 of them:

I am staying there on Halloween night as part of a pre-packaged deal... boo.. but will try to hit the SL party. Yes, I will get a VIP CRT first.

This is a 100% non-monger hotel. They don't allow "guests" in the rooms. They have a sign in the reception area that reads something like: "For the safety of our guests, only registered guests are allowed in the rooms". In the past a couple of guys have reported bringing in a chica, but I can't see it happening these days. To get a girl in there, you will need divine intervention.

I know this place well because I always stay in their apartment complex down the street from the hotel. If you want to take a girl out of SL or HDR, there are many cheap short-time motels.

Taca (aka LACSA) is a very good airline. They say that they fly the "newest fleet in the Americas". It's true, their planes still have the new plane smell.

I have flown with them around 30 round-trips to San Jose. I'm flying that exact route (thru San Salvador) next Friday.

G25591,

Fellow newb here. I'm a little bit younger (but as an opposite, look older) than you, and that's pretty much the way I stumbled onto this site as well. I'll probably run into you since I'm going to be there 11/1 - 11/8 and staying at La Amistad but probably frequenting SL/HDR.

I'm taking TACA as well out of DC with the quick layover in El Salvador, and they seem pretty high quality...free food/drinks, free checked bags, new planes. They seem sorta like Southwest, except when you check-in 24 hours before you can choose your seat. I'm crazy about pre-planning and it looks like around 90-95% of their flights are on-time or even up to half an hour early since I was a little worried about only having a ~45 minute layover in San Salvador.

Oh yeah, thanks, I forgot to mention the free hot meal, free drinks (incl alcohol), 2 free checked bags, and just a generally better attitude than ALL US airlines. One other thing... hot, young flight attendants. (And I noticed a lot of male FA's lately too.)

About the short layover... don't worry about it. The gates are literally next to each other, or there's a chance that the plane that you take to El Sal is the plane that you will have to re-board for SJO.

Here's how it works:
-there are 4 flights from the US that get in at El Sal between 7:30-8:00am. All 4 connect to the 8:35am flight to SJO

JFK 7:30
LAX 7:40
DC 7:45
CHI 8:00

One of these flights will continue on to SJO as flight LR671, but I don't remember which one, I rarely take this route. I usually fly nonstop from JFK but they only fly nonstops on the weekends now ( :x ), so I'm slumming.

Aranjuez was actually my first pick before I found this wonderful site.

Great reviews on Trip Advisor but like Orange said, this is family friendly hotel. I have read the hotel FAQ. Well, not staying here for my first trip but I'm surely going to miss wonderful breakfast buffet everyone is raving about at TA.
