Hello Gentlemen, I will be heading to CR for a bachelor party tomorrow. However I have a question. I did a search for it and couldn't find anything. I am a whiskey drinker preferably Johnny Black. I was wondering should I buy a couple of bottles at the duty free or, are the markets over there reasonably priced. Reason I ask I am from Dominican Republic and over there Rum is dirt cheap but Whiskey is an arm and a leg. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for the all of the great info.

Buy Johny Black at Duty free to save some bucks. I forget the exact price in store but Johnny Wlaker is sold everywhere here.

CR is unusual in that you can buy at the SJO duty free shops on arrival. Most countries will only allow you to purchase duty free on departure. If you are leaving from the U.S. DO NOT purchase your duty free stuff there as you will find it much cheaper in the SJO duty free shop.
