Jamrock is right, The Pueblo is a mall filled with clubs and restaurants in Guadalupe. It attracts a fast local crowd so a wingman is a must. It is the place the local girls go to party. It is five minutes or so from the SL. Pops |

![]() The best rate is always at a bank. The only problem is that CR banks are painfully slow. Like Jamrock said, there is a bank on the departure level at SJO. There are also currency exchange windows in the baggage level and also near gate 4. DON'T USE THEM. You steal about about 15-20% of your money. To get to the bank, you have to exit outside, cross the street, and take the escalator upstairs and go back into the terminal. They exchange at bank rates. If you only have a carry-on, it's ok, but I don't know if you want to drag your suitcase back up. And I wouldn't leave it with the taxi driver. Last month, the Del Rey was exchanging at ¢570 which is unusually high for them. At the same time, the SL was paying ¢560 which isn't that bad either. I consider the money I'm giving up as a convenience charge. It's about 2,000 (~$3.50) for each $100 exchanged. A taxi to the bank and back (you don't want to walk with that much cash on you) plus the waiting, not worth the hassle. |

![]() Another thing you might want to consider is using the ATM. there is one just down the hill form the SL and the charge are reasonable. exchange rate is at the days exchange rate and the fee is about $3.00 US . which include the banks ATM fee and my bank fee.. I have used it and glad to know I can have cash any time. at reasonable cost. |

Yes, using ATM's is a good idea, except if your bank is Bank of America since they charge some crazy ATM fee ($5?) each time you get cash. Note: the exchange rate is not set by the ATM bank in CR; your bank calculates the exchange based on their own rates at the time. If there are any ATM fees, they must be added to the total because I have never seen a separate fee on my statement. |
