Going for the first time to CR next month. Staying at Del Rey. Thanks everyone for the massive amount of intelligence.

What's the music situation like at Del Rey throughout the day? Is there a juke box, DJ, sound system that the manager's control? Live band on weekends? Any dancing with the girls?

During the day, there's music on, but it's not loud. There's no dancing at the DR, but if you go across the street to Key Largo, there's live music, dancing with the chicas & you can take home the chica who shows you the proper hip action.

Day time is "other time" anymore. You could hit some massage parlors or just go on a walk about. Ain't no music nowhere in that area.

Come the night, across the street from the Del Rey, the Key Largo WILL have a "live" (sometimes the people in front of the instruments are just props....it's all pre-recorded) music....and it can be quite good...when the sampling ain't going down and there will be a good number of free lance chica's in there who do NOT go to the Del Rey.

Daytime is the time to get to know your perimeter and constantly expand it....walk to the Mercado Central....or just take a stroll down the pedestrian (as in NO CARS) strip en route to the Central Market (Mercado Central) always keeping your eyes open...... 8)

The DR is not a musical place, unless you consider the sounds of the slot machines to be music. The Key Largo across the street is the place to go, but it will be quieter earlier on. Don't panic. It will fill up later, and there's lots of music and dancing.

The DR is about visual stimulation, not audio.

Sorry for the noob questions (tried searching and nothing came up). If your not staying at the DR do you just pick a girl and take her back to your hotel (is this what they mean by "take out"??) I will be staying at the SL in a few months. Do you have to pay for a taxi back for them?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, take-out is readily available. I've heard that some chicas might not go to certain hotels for certain reasons, i think that's rare though, I've never had such issues. The bottom line is they're there to make money so a 5 min taxi ride isn't a big deal. Paying for the taxi ride back is 100% optional. If she's good to you then why not give her a tip or a couple bucks to handle the fare. I'm sure you might be content with the chicas at the SL.

Agreed. I stay in La Uruca, and it is a 20 to 30 minute taxi ride in bad traffic. I have not had a problem, but I do tell the chica where I stay so that she is not surprised.

Fellow Ingeniero,

There might be some girls at HDR that don't want to go outside, but the odds are in your favor that most will go out. As far as the taxi fare for the after the fact...that's really a non-issue. A taxi cab anywhere in SJO will not cost more that $5 US. So even if the performance wasn't the best $3 or $4 either way won't starve anyone.
