Post subject:  Introducing a non-monger to the life

I am helping a friend arrange a great trip to Costa Rica, which will end up with a couple of nights in San Jose in late August.

What would the CR locals or experienced CR mongers here suggest is the best way to introduce a complete beginner that will be by himself in San Jose? I'll get him somewhere downtown (possibly at the Clarion Amon Plaza, but boy is it getting slammed on TripAdvisor) and I'm looking for suggestions for:

-Specific girls that are trustworthy and GFE (he's reasonably good looking), and/or
-Specific Massage Parlors that provide same.

You know it's great, I know it's great, but if someone starts off with a bad experience, that can end it all before it's begun. I thank you in advance.

Sl is a good place to start simply because there are so many wingmen that can help a newbie out and have the patience to answer questions..

Late August is a hell of a time to be there. There will be vets out in droves during that time.

He wants a good hotel, and I'm having trouble finding many reviews for most of the girl-friendly properties.

What's the nicest hotel of the bunch, with good rooms and good liquor?

My first trip in 04 was solo and stayed at the DR. He will make it and have a great time.

Just send him to the Sportsman's or La Amistad. Honestly, how can you guys sit there and say the Del Rey is a good/nice hotel? Yeah its do-able, but has 2 star written all over the place

NOT the Hotel Del Rey! The DR is a pit with one saving grace: You can get bombed and repeatedly screwed (literally and figuratively).

Send him to SL, either a New Wing or a Mansion Wing room. There he can find girls that are not quite so mercenary and a bunch of guys who can act as wingmen.

Throw a newbie to the Del Rey with no wingman? You guys just like a train wreck!

Del Rey is way too much for a newbie of his stature. Castillo, SL, Amistad etc are good start possibilities for your friend's first virgin exploration.

I ususally stay at the Amistad. But, since he is only in town for 2 days, I wouldn't waste a footstep. I'd recommend Sportsmans. Also, depending on the days he is there, the MP's could be a waste of time. Now, if he is looking a $30 an hour session, then check the MP section. You might tell him to check out the Del Rey during the day. He can't miss with SL/DR for a day and evening session. As far as specific girls, it might be best if he hangs out at SL, see what he likes, then ask one of the guys. What days will he be there?

Sorry guys I have to respectfully disagree. I think the Del Rey is a great place for a newbie. Hell I've done 13 trips to CR in the last 11 years. I've stayed a various hotels but I still keep coming back to the Del Rey. I love being in the center of the action.

Bajuk....one important thing that your friend must understand as a newbie is......"you can't turn a Ho into a housewife". Its very easy for newbies to lose sight of reality down in CR.

I appreciate all the advice.

Simple fact is, you never know how someone will react in an environment like this; one bad experience can sour a person on the whole thing. I want to give him the best chance to enjoy it.

Does anyone know any specific girls (independents or MPs) that I can point him to?

Bajuk – YMMV!!!!!!! Remember that my greatest experience could be your worse nightmare. Forget getting names until your friend gets there and hook up with an experience wingman. I concur with the SL suggestion. Two days and he does not have to leave the premises.

BTW – A good or bad experience is actually up to him. Too many expectation and he will be disappointed. Just hang, let your hair down and let him enjoy it his way. Either way it will be memorable.

When will he be there? and will he be solo all the time?

If he has any reservations about the hobby hook him up with POPS. POPS runs a wingman service and it is a great deal for Newbies. Your friend will not be alone and will get a good introduction to San Jose. Web site www.popsguideservice.net

As he will be there solo and it is his first trip, Sportsmans is the best bet. Great selection of ladies with out the attitude of the DR ladies. The courtyard rooms are good and a little less than the new wing. The Mansion is usually booked; I do not like the club house wing.
Plenty of advice at the bar all the time at SL and plenty of potential wingmen.

You may want to try Hotel Little Havana. Ladies are regularly available and it is part of the MP. Room service is available. The bar is a good place to find wingmen.

If you can not get him into any of the usual places try the Sleep Inn. Easy walk to DR; just around corner, and a short walk to SL. It is convenient for most of the MPS. Biggest issue is the $25.00 chica fee, it may have gone up, and it is not exactly chica friendly but they do tolerate it.

Check out the Hotel, Resorts and Accommodation section for other reviews.

I also recommend PM'ng POPS or other members before the finalizing of the dates of the visit, check out the Roll call section and see who will be there. They may be able to arrange a meet and greet for him, or just ask in the this section.
