At the international airport in San Jose, can you check in for your flight with an e-ticket? I assume you can because most other international airports I have been too are fully equipped, but I just wanted to be sure.

Yes. They DO mandate you showing your passport a couple of times. Now, if you're referring to the auto check in "computer boxes".....I do not belive so....at least there werent' any as I recall in May, 2009 via Continental.

Thanks for the quick response.

No, I don't need an auto check "computer box"--I just wanted to make sure I didn't need a to do that check-in for the return flight stuff on the US-end to make sure I had an actual boarding pass or physical ticket to hand them instead of just having an e-mail confirmation and my passport.

I've flown SJO to HOU about 20 times in the last 3 years. You do not have to have a ticket, but do need to physically check in, and make certain that you do so at least an hour before departure time. While CO allows me the ability to be checked in 'automatically' for the return portion of my flight, I never print the boarding pass (because I don't have a printer). I just walk into the airport, go an buy my exit stamp, fill in my info on the form they give me, hand it to the CO rep in front of the line, then go to the ticket counter.

Hope that helps.
