Was wondering if anyone can comment on the size of the safes in the rooms at the SL. Was contemplating taking my laptop and wondering if it would fit in the safe? Thanks |

Thanks Not unless it's a netbook or a 12" model like the IBM X60. |

I can't say that I have ever felt unsafe at SL in regards to my belongings. Maybe it has been dumb luck, maybe not. I would bring the laptop and tuck it away in the closet or bottom of suitcase. |

The safes are that small there??? I bet you can get it in ??? All of the safes I have run into as of late the laptop fits in. If not just make sure your chica has a bag smaller than your computer ![]() |

Or just get a laptop lock and leave it secured to the furniture. It's just a deterrent, but it's enough of a deterrent someone can't just walk off with the laptop. I usually lock mine to a chair. Unless you have a cable cutter you're going to look mighty funny walking out of the SL with a laptop under one arm and a chair in the other. |

Any netbook will fit. An IBM/Lenovo X40, X61 or X200 will fit, and you will still have some space left for other valuables. A IBM T43 will not. It depends on your laptop. |

ditto. Never had a problem at SL. I did have a very expensive trinket with me and I put it in a locked case and had Carlos and Manfred secure it for me. |

You could take a lock for your suitcase and a cable lock to secure your suitcase. My Acer netbook will fit will fit. |

It doesn't directly address your question as the above Posts do, but there's been a lot of discussion of the the smaller netbook size computers, which can do 90% + of what a laptop will and easily fit in a room safe, with space for your passport, etc: https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=29591 last added to on 20 July https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26841 last added to 5 July |

Is the SL so unsecure you just can't leave your laptop hooked up on the desk or table in your room? ![]() |

![]() Four stays at the SL, and I've had my laptop set up in plain sight, without special cable locks etc. It has never even been touched. Of course, the laptop is usually wired to a power adaptor and speakers...hardly a deterrent. Aside from a minor mini-bar raid and a bottle of 7.5 mg. Vicodin (my fault for not locking it up in the safe), I've never been ripped off by anyone, hooker, maid, maintenance staff or fellow mongers at the SL. ![]() Your mileage may well vary...it depends on the working girls you hire, etc. However, I myself have never had concerns. Yes, I lock up my documents and cash in the strongbox...but otherwise don't worry about it. |

I second the suitcase lock suggestion. Here are some TSA-approved locks: http://www.tamperseal.com/tsa-luggage-l ... g_tsalocks |

I've stayed at the SL 5 or 6 times and left my laptop, Ipod and speakers out in front of everyone. Never had an issue. Could be pushing my luck too. I've had more problems at more reputable hotels, Palacio, Cariari and the resorts. I'd check with the SL desk at check in and see if they can arrange a locker or keep it safe for you while your away. Bill and staff are always very helpful. |
