Can someone name some good tour company for a single tourist looking for tours between mongering trips. Do a lot of these tours have a lot of singles? By single, I mean a person alone going on the trip.

Tough question to answer without knowing what activities you have in mind. I'd suggest refining in your mind what that they are and then cruising through Brother Prolijo's essays on the subject both here and on TripAdvisor.com. Another avenue is asking hoteliers why they chose a particular tour company to feature at their front desks (have them "sell" you)--I doubt any Gulch hotelier will steer you wrong, Brothers BKTuna and TrueSportsman most particularly.
I understand this isn't the on-point answer you were seeking, but this is how I'd do it--and about CR, I'm as green as grass. And the good thing about my approach is serendipity--coming across the unexpected, something you or most tour companies hadn't even thought of and that you might like strictly solo--the VdS cigar tour comes to mind.
