Hello folks, I am a newbie here and have been reading the CRT forums for almost 3 weeks now. I must say that there is a wealth of information here and I thank all you gentlemen for your contribution and making it so much easier for newbies, like myself, to take the plunge. I tried searching the forums but could not manage to find the information that I am looking for. This is what I would like to know, hopefully some of you might have an answer. I am a non-gringo/non-American from the Asian sub-continent. I have a US Class B1/B2 visa (non-immigrant visas for business or pleasure) valid up to year 2015 with multiple entries and no annotations on it. I have been to the US on two occasions without any problem. Do you think this visa holds good to enter CR for at most 10 days? Has any one of you entered CR on a US B1/B2 visa before? I know friends that have been to CR on US H1-B/L1 visas but these are long term immigrant visas. If all goes well, I am planning a trip to CR sometime in mid August as my first mongering trip ever. http://costa-rica.visahq.com/requirements/India/ Citizens of India residing in India have to apply for a visa to Costa Rica in person at the nearest consulate of Costa Rica in India. Please note that the application procedures and fees may vary depending on where you apply. If there is no consulate of Costa Rica in India there might be a consulate of Costa Rica in one of the neighboring countries that covers the jurisdiction of India. |

Gentlemen, This is interesting. As per the link given by Californicationdude it says: Quote: New Visa Regulations Effective February 16, 2009, nationals of countries that require a consular visa to enter Costa Rica are no longer required to apply for the visa, if the visitors are holders of: * A valid tourist visa, crew member’s visa, or business visa to enter the U.S., Canada or the countries of the European Union. The tourist visa must be stamped in their passport and valid for at least 3 more months. ... Hmm, it does seem that the former is accurate. I'd double check with the embassy just to be sure though. Good luck and hope to see you down there sometime! |

Good luck and hope to see you down there sometime! That would be great! Hope the visa thing works out. BTW, I read your trip reports and it really has helped me inflate my confidence. |
