Hey guys - I've gotten a lot of good information from a lot of members. Thank you all for helping. I need some insight on where to find good food at good prices. I love all kinds of food, esp asian and latin. Your opinions and insights are welcome.

For a great dinner you can't beat Esquina de Buenas Aires, (think Argentine beef and good wine). Cafe Mundo is great too for pizza, spaghetti and that type of thing. Delicias de Peru which is just around the corner from HLH has superior seafood in my opinion, as does Princesa Marina near Parque Sabana. The little soda that is about 50 feet before HLH is decent too. The food stalls at Mercado can be great and cheap. Lastly there is a little mini mall about 100 feet down the street from HDR that had a food court. The little seafood place there isn't too bad either.

...And when you're "Searching" the restaurant Forum, take notes on what to avoid as well--Fogo Brasil and JR's Ribs come to mind. Also it's a bit of a hike but if you're a pork chop fan like I am, Donde Alcides is evidently the place to go. Noise it around the SL at Happy Hour and you'll probably get a party together in no time.

There are a million little sodas. Find one that has a brisk business and try a typical Tico meal of pork or chicken or beef and beans/rice with a small salad for around $2000c.

I should have also listed Donde Alcides on my list because no trip to SJO is complete unless I get one of those massive wood grilled porkchops with a side of grillled onions and the roasted plantains. But, it is a 40 minute bus ride, and well worth it.
