On your FIRST DAY, Purchase on your first day from a pharmacy a bottle of DIACORT..cost about $6. This stuff is GOOD. I had an upset stomach my third day on my first trip and this stuff saved my ass. (maybe a couple of bucks more now)

Went back to my room, took a shot, lay down for a few hours and was back in action that evening. Also, the tips on other previous posts about sucking on limes with your meals and beer seemed to work as well.

The bottle has a small amount of antibiotic, the kind of upset stomach medicine you cannot buy over the counter here.

Do not let an upset stomach, bad food, whatever...spoil your trip even for one day.

whenever I travel overseas, I try to find a similar product and always bring a bottle back with me.

Another item to have handy is ammonium D or equivalent. Mt first trip was in Nov. I started out drinking Imperial. Well, I felt like a king alright, 1/2 an hour at a clip sitting on the porcelain throne. My wingman had the ammo-D and all was well. I switched to Pilsen beer and all was better.

Although drinking ammonium would probably kill whatever bug was causing an upset stomach.
