Post subject: | Photos in posts?? |
I have been a member of this board for a few years now. I have always got good info off this forum. I am also a member of a few Thailand forums. The one thing I like better about the other forums is that I can add pictures to my posts. I posted a TR from my last few trips on several forums. The ones with pics were defiantly better. Is there a reason why we can’t add pictures to our posts on this site? I’m not trying to criticize, I just feel that my reports both on Thailand and CR are way better with pics inserted. I will continue to post my reports on this site either way. I would just like to be able to post them in their entirety. Is there any chance that we will be able to add pics to our TRs in the future? And yes I know there’s a photo gallery. But IMO that’s not the same as the photos explained and added to a TR. |

This is a better question for Admin1. He will be happy to answer if you shoot him a p.m. Cujo |

I'm guessing that the reason is that most photos uploaded take up a lot of space. Unless, you resize them, the files can be quite large, depending on your camera. Do you have to resize the photos that you upload to the other forums? I have uploaded a photo or 2 to ISG and had to resize before it would be accepted. dapanz1 |

I am guessing, but I think it may have to do with the nature of the site. Admin1 would probably like to have some knowledge of exactly what is posted on the site. With privacy concerns and legal concerns, I can see where it could turn into a bag of worms. |

Nope. Dapanz is dead on. Adding images to the site would slow the loading of the pages. Even image linking would slow things down. |

It just seems like it wouldn’t be that tough to make the forum compatible with photos. I am a member of 5 Internet forums. This is the only one that I can’t post pics on. It seems to me the others operate just as fast as this one. I just think it would make the site more interesting. |

I'm just the bringer of the news. Don't mean I agree with it. ![]() |

This has been discussed before, and yup, Admin1 won't allow photo linking in posts. No technical reason behind it, he just doesn't want the board to be too slow for dial-up users. Dial-up? ![]() |

That’s a shame. I just don’t spend any time in the photo gallery. The pics just don’t do anything for me with out the story behind them. Do we actually still have any dial up users? I understand that this was a problem in the past but IMO , not so much now. Here is an example of my point for those of you that have access. This is the same TR posted on here and on another site. You be the judge of which is better. https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26993 http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index ... opic=41098 http://www.pattayasecrets.com/forums/in ... opic=59475 If this sight is not going to allow pictures so be it. I can live with that and I will drop it. I just thought I would bring it up and maybe the powers that be would consider it. |

That's probably because you are not a VIP member and don't have access. |

Dial-up? I thought it could (would) be done with an upgrade, it was mentioned almost a year and half ago but never happened for some reason. ![]() ![]() |
