Hi all,

I did a search with no luck. Is there such a list - English Speaking Ticas?

All chicas speak SOME English... But if you want someone to have a conversation with you without doing any leg work, , go to Vegas, or learn Spanish...

If you're willing to spend a little time with the chica before banging her, you can figure out exactly how good her english is....


Seriously, try to learn SOME of the language, and you'll do much better...


Sorry if this sounds like I'm ranting, but it IS a foreign country with a different language...

Scttered throughout you will see chicas that speak better than others. Often times (not always) this is an indication that they have been around the block.

Otherwise they know the same amount of english that guys do spanish. They have "phrases" down like "wa ju name?" First time in Costa Rica?" etc..

Just as unattractive those type of repetitive questions can be from the chicas is matched by the gringo that only knows how to say, do you take it in the ass, or whatever crass sexual favor you want. So it works both ways, but many fail to realize that.

DD- once you visit CR with some spanish under your belt, you will be amazed at the difference between now (the upcoming trip) and the next few if you can incorporate conversational spanish.

Yes, if she speaks good english, or passable, chances are she's been around the block a few times and knows how to seperate you from your money as quickly as possible.

Not always, of course, but beware.

great advice guys but let me throw out another one for ya'all.

I live near the University of Costa Rica. I also know of several easy ways of meeting college-educated Ticas. Most of them speak very good English. Sure, you might not see them at the SL, HLH, or even the HDR, but they are here mis amigos, and plentiful

Yeah, but are they fuckable? I just met a doctor, doable, last week and she travels to Miami often but her English speaking skills were primitive at best.

I totally agreed with what you said and you are not ranting. I speaks 3 languages fluently and I can read and write in 5 languages. When I go to a foreign country, I learned at least a few phrases. I never walked up to a local and ask her "Do you speak English" in English. I asked this question in their own language. I found they like this due to the fact that I show an interest in their language and culture.

I agreed with you that I was being lazy! I don't want to do all the work and reap all the benefits.

I never take criticism as negative. I take them as constructive advices and learn from them. Keep them coming since I am here to learn.

I know this is a quick-fix and not any type of long-term solution but get yourself a talking translator (they've been discussed here--do a search). For your initial voyages they can be some fun if accompanied by lotsa smiles and good feelings/intentions. Mi dos colones...But do try to learn SOME Spanish--Plimseur/ Rosetta Stone/ whatever. There are also some excellent Threads here on basic phrases. It's from the heart AND from the wallet. Truly.

Of course they are phuckable! You have to remember that EVERY girl of legal age is having sexo with someone. What it might take to make you the one (or one of the one's!) can vary all over the map. It can range from a few drinks to a wedding ring. :lol: It might depend on your "game" or many hundreds of other intangable factors. If men understood them all then we probably wouldn't be on this forum! :lol:

Remember to keep it all in perspective!

I speak no spanish and never had a problem. Besides there is always someone around that will negotiate on your behalf. At least thru my experience.

Sort of an undercurrent here, but the fact is that for a person looking for a more genuine experience, when a girl speaks english that's a turn-off (to some extent). For me personally, to hear a girl speak her native spanish has always been exciting and seductive, but to her a native spanish speaker speak engllish has been the opposite. With all our advantages in terms of wealth, resources and education, it's right pathetic not to speak spanish and enjoy the girls in their more natural unspoiled state.

My number of posts to the contrary, I really am a rookie, Brother Chesscat, and agree with what you said about learning SOME Spanish but "...enjoy the girls in their more natural unspoiled state..."? The Brothers here are gonna have fun with that one
