Absolute vodka for sure, Chevas don't remember, but there's two shops and both have an extensive top shelf selection of booze and at super prices. So, you would be smart to load up on what you will drink while in CR. Cohiba's? They say you can't be sure even in Cuba if they are real, but prices on those might be better in town--if you do you a thread search on this board you will get lots of cigar shop info, and one is for sure near the DR. |

Little different then other air ports, can buy there and take into the county with paying the tax. The price of Absolute was at one time real good, my friend who owns a bar wanted to dump all my clothes out and repack my suit case with the stuff as it was around ¼- 1/3 what he paid back at home—I had to say no to that. But If I remember right out side one of the booze shops ( by the food court if you can call it that) there was what looked like a place were you can have them roll the cigars for you wile you wait, just a little stand.. But every time I was there no one was there, maybe you have ask in the booze shop for help? Something different to try. Don’t’ remember any shop like that in Jaco, but I am not a smoker so never looked |

I tried the Centenario 12 years last time I was there. That was the best rum I have had so far. |

The 4 for $10 is the 4 year rum. Once I start going I can't really notice the difference on the 4 5 8 year? I have an aquired taste for sh**y rum here in Cali. SO any decent rum is just like a top shelf for me! I don't think there is a limit coming in on bottles. I bought 8 my last time in Oct. |

Price must have come down...alot! I recently paid $21 for 4 bottles of Flor de Caña four year old at the airport. (Buy 3, get one free deal they seem to always have) Are these 750 ml bottles? |

Not knowing this, I've purchased a case and a half of liquor at the duty free in the airport for an extended trip and didn't have a problem bringing it in. Not sure if the 8 liter limit is enforced. |

Not sure if the 8 liter limit is enforced. Like most customs regulations the enforcement depends on the inspectors mood at the time he is checking you. |
