Customs at SJO is usually very easy going. Only thing I have ever heard of them confiscating is organic material. If you have a significant amount of electronics, computers or appliances they may stamp your passport that you have used your 6 months exemption and can bring anything else in duty free for the next 6 months. By significant I mean less than commercial amounts. If they think are you are bringing in things for resale they tend to stricter. |

Yes, you should have no problem. I have imported all manner of electronic devices, never in their original container (don't want to look new...), and have never had a problem, not even a glance. |

I would but I don't know that it matters. Much easier to say that you are bringing your private possessions, not for re-sale, when the object is obviously used and not packaged for sale. |

When you bring anything into CR, *NEVER* bring it in it's original box (unless the box fits entirely in your suitcase). The only times i've ever had a problem is when i bring something that's not in my luggage. I've never been asked to remove anything out of my luggage, and i've brought Dell 1U servers, Wii's, 24" monitors, and all kinds of stuff through. |
