I just arrived in Costa Rica for few days (the choice of this time of year was unavoidable). I will try to stay in San Jose in the next few days.

Is it true that because of holidays in schools in this season, the independents scene might be bad?

There must be some solteras with no k*ds ...

Have you been in SJ before? I always preach to each monger to get to the point to where it doesn't matter how bleak the situation is; be it the holidays, the economy, too many mongers in town etc..

Don't let anything effect your time and experience in CR. There's some threads concerning the holiday traffic, do a search and you should find something.

As I understand it, it seems to be pretty thin around the holidays but I'm sure you'll find plenty of independents to your liking. There's always the option of Mp's, not my thing either but it's a decent back up.

Happy hunting,

Cujo

No, this is my first time.

The problem is that I will have bits and pieces of time in between other activities, so will be difficult to do much scouting.

I hope to reach a point of finding someone likeable (mutually of course) to accompany for a weekend outside of San Jose.

Thanks, anyway ..

Best bet: Sportsman's Lodge. Find some of us who have boots on the ground year round and get a recommendation. I am there often in the evenings and there are several others. There are many good choices available.

Of course, your mileage will vary, but what you have outlined is quite possible, especially if you have a little Spanish and some game.
