I would like to say thank you to everyone for sharing all of this info. I am going to CR on the 21st of October for 7 days and it is my first time there.

I will definitely hit up the usual spots that everyone has recommended. However I have traveled extensively through the Dominican Republic and I have found that besides going to the P4P spots I also enjoy going to the local clubs/disco to meet non-pros. (I know you end up paying one way or the other). In DR, i have two novias that I have ket for about five years. I met them at local spots in Puerta Plata.

Does anyone know of spots in San Jose like this were good looking non-pros go to hang out?

I speak decent Spanish (enough to get over). I am actually going to be taking classes to improve my Spanish while I am in San Jose.

There are local places in CR all over the place. BKTuna has the skinny on those places.

You said your spanish is decent or enough to get by. My suggestion would be to pick up a girl at the DR and go to work. If the conversation is good, and you are charming her socks off, it's just the same as having a non pro. Those fine ass girls like to act normal to, if you can bring it out of them

There are many places: La Cantina, El Pueblo, Vertigo, Rumba, ...

In Heredia there are several discos and bars, too.

Take a taxi to Mall San Pedro, or the bus if you prefer, and hang-out at the mall for a wall. Have lunch in the fast food restaurant area, and go from there.

Has anyone hung out in university village at some of those funky places by UCR? What is that like?
