OK...read the forum, got some questions answered, got my VIP card, and took the plunge. Reservations booked for the flight, room at the Sportsmens Lodge, now all I have to do is hurry up and wait. Will be there on 18 April and am looking forward to this trip. Many thanks to the board members who answered the questions and posted their experiences. See y'all soon!!!

Nash,
There's a Happy Hour on the 19th at Sportsmens. Looks like a good group of guys will be there. Go and talk with some, you'll learn a lot.

Hello Orange,

tks recently for all your help in answering my questions. I will be coming to SJ on 5/14 -5/18 and staying at the Presidente. A few more concerns and Ims ure these have been mentioned somewhere in all the threads i maybe i just didnt come across it :

1) I usually leave my passport locked up in the safe in my hotel room when traveling internationally, and keep a copy with me at all times.. do you suggest taking original passport with you when mongering around SJ or copy will suffice. ? Ive heard different things on this because of security reasons in case you have to pull your passport out to show officials..just wanted to get your thoughts on this.....I keep a money puch on me to normally keep these things in that is hidden in case of potential pick pocketers

2) Also in the Presidente besides the spa jacuzzi rooms , is there a jacuzzi setup at the hotel for guest on one of the floors or an out side terrace setup outside ? If so any problems with your Tica guest having access ?

3) Any VIP CRT discounts offered at any of the clubs in El Pueblo when you show your VIP card ? If so which ones ? I understand they have VIP sections at some of these spots ?

4) How is weather in SJ in May , and any good restaurant you receommend for some good rice and beans , chuleta, platinos ?

Gracias !

Hello board , I am new and a little shy. My father wants to take me to Costa Rica for my 18th birthday in May. I have not had a chance to get many girls any really and want to know if they are good with beginners to this sort of a thing. I am not going to be comfortable with a total stranger in my room with no cloths. Do you have to ask to touch them or anything ? I am a little on the heavy side will that matter? How do I relax ? My father says I will be ok. Thanks , Harlo

If he is "a little" on the heavy side, experience of any quality in the USA might be hard to come by.

Probably, this young gent can have a kick-ass introduction to the world of sexuality in CR that will spoil him for good. He can probably bag chicas in CR on a scale much higher than back home. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. Might be good to boost confidence...?

Kinda like a baseball game or a (football) soccer game Harlo..some are good, some are great, some are so-so. Just let it happen and if its good..great....if its bad...buy another ticket and go to another game.

The more you worry about and plan it....the less chance for a GREAT game. Roll with it...if it don't happen this time...so what, her loss....next times a charm!

Harlo,

Does your dad have experience with mongering in CR? If so I would advise you and him to go to the Del Rey. Try and find a chica who is not hardcore. If your dad knows the ropes it shouldn't be much trouble. Just as the mongers have all sorts of personalities so do the chicas. Your first experience should be much better if it is with a sweet simi pro. Try and find one who is not so aggressive. And no you should not have to ask them if you can touch them. That is what you are paying them for. Good luck. I'm sure you will have a great time.

Harlo,
IMHO, you're probably not ready for CR yet. The women there can (and might) eat you alive. They can smell a newbie a mile away. I can only assume that you have not been with many (any) women, nor are you well travelled. Do you speak any Español ?

I think 911 Driver gave you good advice. Wait 'til you're 21 with more experience under your belt. YMMV.

MG :?

My dad surprised me today with tickets on Delta 245 tomorrow and 2 rooms 1 me and 1 him at Del Rey. Do you recommend a girl who will treat me right. I have never had an affair with a girl before . He tells me do not worry but I am nervous. I am young but will a Viagara help me for my first time ? Looking to meet some of you as well. Thanks, Harlo Anderson

Harlo,
For chrissakes.... YOU'RE 17 YEARS OLD AND A VIRGIN - STAYING AT THE HOTEL DEL REY!!!!!!!!! Don't even think about taking Viagara or any other E.D. drugs. And please, be very careful down there. :(

Man oh man. I got a bad feelin' about this one.....

Just curious, why the 21 age, versus say 19, 20, 22, etc... Is it because it is the american drinking age? Because that doesn't make much sense to me.
