Post subject:  One more newbee question

Friends,
As I am aproaching close to my dream vacation next week, I am getting bit narvous and having some questions here please help.

1) What is customs at the border takes me on side for questining to find out the real purpose of the trip? Could that lead to a big problem as all you know the purpose is fishing?
I know dealing with minor is totally illegal and I am totally not into that so I am nor worried about that.
So please advise.

2) What happens if you loose your passport in CR?

3) Is there any way (bribing etc) to go to CR without having passport stamped?

Regards

First time out of the country I take it.

1. They don't care and you don't have to answer. The likelihood of you getting pulled aside is almost zero but if you do say you are there to look at the rain forests and the volcano's.

2. You go to the embassy and tell them you lost your passport. If you have an American Express card they can also help you with the process as well but you will still have to go to the embassy.

Do not ever carry your passport with you ever. You only need a copy of your front page and your entry stamp. Leave the passport in the safe after you check into the hotel.

3. Not a chance in hell.

You are worried about banging hookers which is perfectly legal in CR but trying to bribe your way into the country will be frowned on big time.

Jvcking, relax and enjoy your trip. You are putting way too much thought into this because the minute you walk into the Del Rey your mind is going to overload and shut down. Your plans will go out the window so don't bother making any.

Cheers!

Jvc,
Chill brother, and don't worry about every little thing. You're gonna be fine. Just go and enjoy yourself, and make sure to post a trip report when you return.

Immigration and Customs in Costa Rica is some of the most laid back and easiest to get through customs in the world. They don't ask you the purpose of your trip, ever. If you're a lone man, they know what you're there to do ;)

So long as you're not trying to smuggle a 60" plasma into the country without paying taxes, it's a 10 minute process (assuming you aren't unlucky enough to get there when 10 other planes are as well.)
