Post subject:  Where to Meet Not P4P Chicas
While in CR, I would also like to try to meet some non-pro chicas, even if it means not scoring with them. I am a decent looking guy in my late 30's, but do not speak any Spanish. Can any of you receommend the best place(s) to go or am I deluding myself in the opportunity to meet a chica without the language? Thanks,

Just for laughs, I thought I might actually answer your question instead of criticize you ;)

The best place to meet chicas, like in the US is at bars. Unlike the bars in the US, though, the chicas go to bars to meet guys, not roll their eyes at them and pretend they're married ;)

A great place to meet a normal girl is a place called El Pueblo, it's a collection of bars in one complex, with different kinds of music in different bars. Some of the more popular ones are "Friends" and "Ebony 56". If you can't score there, you aren't trying (And hell, i've scored there WITHOUT trying, and i'm not much to look at).

Check out the website of friends http://www.friendscr.com/ and check the gallery for tons of pictures.

Of course there are plenty of other places to meet chicas too, but with varying degrees of difficulty ;)

By the way, as goofy as it sounds, I bring a handheld translator with me. The ladies in Eastern Europe seem to get kick out of exchanging words. We'll see what happens in CR.

The place to go, the real place to go, is Fandangos in Escazu. Is in the Plaza Commercial by Tony Romas. Go about 9 or 10pm on the weekends there will be more ticas than you can handle. I found many spoke quite a bit of English. It is a bit more expensive than other bars, so it draws a more educated tica client base. I speak espanol so as soon as they found that out we stopped speaking English. But they would introduce themselves in English. There are is also quite an Asian crowd there. I saw and danced with several women from Taiwan and China as well as Filipinas. Of course they all spoke English.

Spanish ability, however limited, is helpful IMHO when looking for the non-pros.

el pueblo?? pft. yah right. yah, 'real' girls do go to pueblo, but its not known for that. normal girls think that pueblo is full of polos y pachucos. i've seen plenty plenty of hdr girls at pueblo. look elsewhere for a good girl. get outta the gulch. live amongst the ticos. you'll meet plenty.

mr. las vegas ...i see you wrote about that you met some asain girls (my weakness) could you give some more info on these ladies ...as the only asians i have found in san jose ...and trust me i have looked everywhere are the chain -smoking 65 year old butt ulgy ones found at the casino in the morazan. were they normal girls or working girls and do you have any phone numbers ?? and if you are in town during jan 23 /jan 29 i would love to tag along with you to find these girls....chilimike

Sure you can go to the bars in Escazu and meet english speaking tica "non pros"jejeje!! My experience with them is that they are only interested in finding "RICH" gringos to take advantage of. In 12 years, I have only met one english speaking Tica that was not looking for a "sugar daddy", and she was in her 40s and a member of a very wealthy and powerful Tico family.

As for EL PUEBLO, yes it is a "FUN" place; but, it is also where many, many of the "pros" go to unwind and party.(but they are still willing to P4P) and sometimes you can even find a pro there that will go just for the "fun"

"Go shopping" This is actually a great way to meet chicas here. BUT again, you need espanol. And also, as I have reported in another thread; I met a really cute and friendly chica working in Ekono in the Mall de San Pedro. Made arrangements to meet for a date in a couple of days. Then that night guess who I ran into in the REY?? :roll: :shock: :evil: YEP!!! My question to her was "Just when were you going to tell me that you P4P?? :shock: :oops: Actually our "date" was gradis in the sense of paying xx$ for sex, but, about equal in cost in terms of dinner, dranks and other things.

Internet dating sites---Again many, many of the chicas on the 4 major sites with "Ticas" are 50% + working chicas. AND they don't tell you about that part of their life.

Hell, just stick with the chicas in the REY, KL, MPs, etc. At least there you KNOW up front what you are going to get, and what it is going to cost you. And a whole lot less stress and drama: AND in the long run a lot less expensive.

BUT then who am I to be listening to?? I have been dating the same Tica for 11 months :roll: :twisted: :wink: :P

strong stereotyping here.

i've lived here 3 years, and i know several ticas that speak english rather well, that aren't looking for sugar daddies, and that hold respectful careers.

Yes it may be strong sterotyping, but I am also sorry to see that you have lived here 3 years and are still disillusioned in believing that ALL Ticas do not think that ALL GRINGOS ARE RICH and almost all are more than willing to take ANY GRINGO for all they can. Believe me, even the "wealthy" Ticas look at Gringos as being "rich". And by their standards, most are!
Most of the ones that aren't out to get your money also have a very strong dislike for Gringos, and want nothing to do with us.
