The best wingman is the guy who has been on the scene recently. He knows who is around and, more importantly, knows what you like. He keeps his eyes open for "your type" and is quick to alert you when she pops in. If he speaks Spanish it is a definite benefit and if he has boots-on-the-ground connections it is even better.

A really good wingman is enough like you to roll in your favorite venue yet different enough that he is not after the same girl that you like all the time. He keeps one eye on the room and one eye on you so he knows where you are and anticipates when you are ready to move. He is flexible and can roll with a changing situation. He is timely and does not keep you waiting. I always know where he is but I don't have to rescue him or hold his hand.

He knows when I am hooking up and I don't need to say anything about it. All I have to do is catch his eye and give him a nod and he knows he will see me later or maybe tomorrow. He can roll on his own as well as I can so it is never a problem. He is unshockable.

You would think good wingman are rare. Fortunately, thanks to CRT and SL, they are fairly plentiful! :wink:

I been thinking about this wingman business that I have been reading about. I would like to know what your thoughts on the wingman are. Besides the fact you need someone to watch your back in the streets, what is the purpose of a wingman. When it comes down to girls, I have never needed the help of another guy to help me get a chick. I guess I can understand certain people wanting advice on which girl to pick but the fact is, there is no need for a wingman in the DR. Anyways, please let me know what is so important about the so called wingman in a house of prostitution .

I do Cr without a wingman as do many others. Always have. If I want to meet or chat with someone that's never a problem. Some though have a personality type which draws them to another amigo to hang with almost 24/7. Nothing wrong with that. It's just not me though. Berk....

Been to Cr several times always alone ( no wingman). I am carfeul in my choice of lady and do not put myself in bad situations. Like in a dark alley at 2am with the chica I just had big brother. Somethings you just do not do, like leave your money out where it can be taken. I have enjoyed every trip and have already got a ticket to go back alone in March.

Seriously I have fun solo or with a wingnut but have gotten bored sometimes after a few days if there's nobody around to hang with. Wingnuts amplify the fun and laughs which for me are the 2nd best thing about being there.

While sitting at the bar in Blackbeard's in the DR, an assertive girl approached. I was not interested, as she was a little big for me. Also, my equipment was in "rest" mode. I am always polite, unless provoked, and did not want to tell her to bug off, as she had very, very sexy friends. A brother sitting next to me intercepted, allowed the girl to perform a lap dance, and relieved me of the need to continue dialog. He was not really interested in the girl, but he helped me out. She got what she wanted, $$$, and I got piece of mind. I see this as a wingman.

My wingman is one of my best friends, we usually travel together to CR, and occasionally go out together, but mostly I am solo. I dont need a wingman for protection, or to get girls. He is just handy when no one else is around to have someone to talk too. or to take a out of gulch day trip with.

To wing, or not to wing. An eternal question Wingman Pro's 1) Will (try to) talk you out of making a (possibly drunken) mistake 2) Help you pass the time (and not lower your standards) when the talent is thin 3) Easier to deal with groups of ticas when you are in a group 4) May keep the ugly one busy while you make time with the hot one Wingman Con's 1) May (try to) talk you into making a (possibly drunken) mistake 2) May keep you too distracted to notice the GFE hottie that just got grabbed by someone paying more attention 3) May grab the hottie you were eyeing before you get to her 4) May stick you with the ugly one while he's making time with the hot one.

It seems the consensus is that a wingman is not needed but rather someone who can help you pass time and hang out with. I def agree with that. In real life, not the Del Rey, a wingman is needed when you want to talk to a girl with a fat friend, or help hype you up to the girl you are trying to get with, etc. But at the Del Rey, its basically a business, so if a girl is with a group, I have no problem infiltrating and taking her out without a wingman. Also, if a girl has a ugly friend, I make no point in befriending her and tell her to get lost. For mongering purposes I think a wingman is pointless unless you just want to hang out with a friend and pass time or need someone to watch your back. As for one of those chicas that I am not interested in bothering me, I never asked a wingman to help me get rid of them. I just tell them very openly that I am not interested and to leave me alone.

Wingmen are nice to have but certainly not necessary. My 2 trips to CR I have travelled with a pal of mine and we have acted as each other's wingman. But at the DR we do not look for girls together and I often gamble for extended periods while he engages in other pursuits. I have met a number of guys from this board, both in CR and South Florida, and I would be just as happy running with them in CR as I am my college buddy. So I would not worry too much about wingmen. If you're down there alone and want a wingman it will not be hard to find. Most of all......enjoy.
