I'm just wondering do the ticos tip at Massage parlors, especially in the massage parlors that cater to Ticos (Muses, Dungeon, and etc.)? If so, how much do these guys tip usually?

They usually do not tip.
Which is why the chicas prefer gringo customers who are more likely to pay more and tip more for the same service.

They laugh at the idea of tipping a massage girl. Very foriegn to them.

Is it in their culture not to tip? Or that they can't afford to tip.

One of the sentences in my Spanish class here translates into- The servicio is enough of a tip. That should say all we need to know about tico attitudes toward propinas. My tico maestro made us repeat and memorize this phrase in Spanish. Said it was a good example of verb usage, etc. I just think he is a codo and does not want me served before him in a restaurant.

In all seriousness it would never occur. The propina requests at ZB are 100% our fault and no one else's.

If the whining for tips up front did not work it would stop.

I was always a gracious tipper at home. I now tip above the 10% included only at the Sportsmens and Time out Tavern where I am a regular and get good service. I have not been to a MP in quite a while but would not tip over 5k max at ZB and that would be for a vert good sesion.

It's in almost no cultures to tip for that type of service. Americans are the only ones I know who throw all these tips around. It's been covered ad-nauseum in previous threads.

Or you could just not tip. Its not like she can reverse the session so that it didnt happen.

What is the benefit for a girl to work at ZB or any MP rather then working at the Del rey? They probably make something like 20 dollars per customer at these parlors but could make an average of 60 at the DR. Call me a typical gringo, but I tip for good service. I do not tip outrageously but I do tip the MP girls because they make less then the DR girls, and I am paying less as well. If they ask for a tip, then that is another story but none of the girls I had a session with asked.

In Rio at Solarium, I never tipped because it seems like everything is so much more organized and the girls have set rules to follow. Plus, you change out of your clothes, so you do not carry cash with you and everything is handled through the front desk (the girls never see or touch your money). In SJO, the girls take your money up front and then give you change or whatever.

Now only if they got health coverage and vacation time

just try to compare the best girls at ZB like karen, pamela, laura, etc to the best girls at the del rey. if you threw them in the mix at the DR I think that they would not stand out at all. also, they feel much safer, I think, if they can work on premises and have security watching over them if they call for help. plus, much less competition. you have 100's of girls at the DR possibly compared to 15 at the most at a MP.

If working at a MP is very lucrative for women in SJO, wouldn't more girls be doing it and thus a higher selection? In Rio, the numbers prove that working at a terma is desirable.

I would think that Pamela and Laura would make a lot more at DR than at ZB. I bet a lot of CRT's would give 80 for her.
