I received email from a tica I met with the word teextrano, I can't find a translation for this word. Could anyone help.

I translate the item as, "I banish you." The verb "extranar" can mean "to wonder at" or "to banish," but "extranarse" can mean "to marvel" or "to be astonished." It depends upon the context.

To be fair, there are a lot of idioms, phrases, and diminutives that don’t show up in Spanish dictionaries, and the only way to learn them is through conversation. Way back when I was learning Spanish, I received a letter from a girl that said “yo tambien te extrano”. When I ran it through an electronic translator it said “I also am strange”. I was scratching my head trying to figure out what that meant.

Don’t give up on the dictionary yet, just understand that there are a lot of phrases that don’t make sense in English when you look them up word by word.
