1. Is there a place to connect your laptop to the internet/Hotspot at the Intl airport? 2.How far is the US consulate from the Sportsmens lodge I wouls appreciate the info. Thanks. |

I believe the airport has an unsecured wireless network. Consulate is in Pavas. About 15 - 20 minute taxi ride from the SL. |

Yes, the airport (Juan SantaMaria) has unsecured wireless internet. Works fine, and the signal is adequate. The signal is also fine in the smoking lounge downstairs. MG |

There us also a VIP lounge ($20) if yoiu are not a member. It has a secure network they hand you a log on and password at the front desk, plus free appetizers and soft drinks, free local calls (also has a smoking lounge) |

I used it on my last trip to SJO, signal was fine, no problems to report. I used it on all ends of the airport to change some flights, no security problems although Id be a bit more cautious as mentioned its unsecured |

Now that smacks of Amsterdam... Brothel in the airport... it's a GREAT idea. Only problem is that I don't think all those Eco freaks would appreciate it. I think most of them don't know what goes on in CR. They have a vague idea that it's legal, but that it... If you put it right out in front of them, things may not work out so well for us... Although I would love the concept, I would be afraid of the repercussions... |
