I'm heading to CR torwards the end of July. I have 2 questions...

1st: I'm more of a late night persion (Stay up til 3-4am then sleep in til noon or even longer) With that being said...where are some good places to get good late-night food??? Both for eat in and take out. I am staying at Sportsmen Lodge...Does anyone know if they offer food 24/7?

2nd: I plan on going rafting...Any specific Company that's better then the others? This will be my first time ever doing rafting...

1. HDR has awesome late night pink snapper.
2. Most of the rafting companies offer about the same as far as rivers and pricing from my research. But there is one that will pick you up and drop youoff in different locations for no extra cost. ex. i'm getting picked up in Puerto Viejo and dropped off in SJO. so i save a $29.99 shuttle ticket. Others might be able to help you out more http://www.exploradoresoutdoors.com

Ed

Sportsmens' kitchen closes at 11:00, sometimes earlier. No staff except for security after midnight. I think that the Del Rey restaurant is 24/7 but would need others to verify.

I have sat in the delray at 3AM and the waiter was asking if I was hungry.

Yes, visit Chelle's at Ave. Central & Calle 9. It is very close to SL. It is, basically, a sandwich place. You may, in the evening hours, encounter a person, or K*D, begging. Now, I do not give $$, but I have given half of my sandwich, and the person appeared grateful. I have bought food for people, too. It did not cost much, especially considering what I was spending for the week.

Try this place.

There are a number of restaurants that are 24/7. The HDR and Chelles as previously mentioned. There also are Manolos (Avenida Central y Calle 2), Nuestra Tierra ( Avenida 2 y Calle 15), Cafe 1830 @ The Gran Hotel Costa Rica (Avenida 2 Y C & Calle 3). Hotel Europa (Avenida 2 y Calle C) cafeteria
was open 24 hours but may have changed. I think the restaurant at the Colonial Casino is also open 24 hours but best to check that.

Anyway you certainly will not go hungry
