Orange,

I just read your newbie sticky...outstanding! You put a great deal of thought into this project and it shows.

I would like to add a little more to your excerpt in the "Going Home" section about obtaining the departure tax document when arriving at SJO:

Pick up your departure tax stamp upon arrival. There is an inconspicuous counter along the back wall of the immigration queuing area. Since few people ever notice it, there is rarely a line. Take an extra minute, pay your $26, and get this detail out of the way. Lock your departure stamp with your passport in the hotel safe.

Note that you can also do this at the Hotel Presidente at the tour desk. Kenj8 turned me onto this and it was a great time saver.

Thanks, I actually mentioned the small exit tax counter by immigration. It's in the "Arriving in CR" section. I will add the comment about locking away the stamp w/ the passport.

Tip numero uno: Do not trust any of the chicas because they are not to be trusted. Trust me on this one.

Trust is a relative term here. Trust the ones you know and like...with verification, of course.
