Rate of exchange from any ATM machine is established by the card issuer not the owner of the ATM machine. Your rate will be the same no matter what ATM you use. The exchange rate at the casino cashier booth to exchange dollars to colones is a rip off. Do not use it.

Do you have to pay for tours in cash only or can you charge them at the agency in the del rey?

Tax is $26.00 and can be payed at the Banco de Costa Rica across from the Morazan Hotel one block west of the HDR



Where is a good place to by snacks and beer water etc to stick it in the mini bar?

Walk one block south to Avenida Central and 2 blocks east. There is a Mas x Menos supermarket.

Also what it the current taxi to airport rate is it 18 still?

Might be able to negotiate a better rate with a red taxi from downtown to SJO. The $18.00 is the rate from airport to downtown in an Orange airport cab.
