Newbie here. At the Delrey, do you pay the girls in dollars or colones? It seems that dollars are accepted, but I want to make sure. Also, how frequently are dollars used for other things, or are only colones accepted?

The girls will accept both. Better to pay in colones for the exchange rate plus you'll get know there currency a little. I personally pay for everything in colones. Exchange my US cash at the casino cashier at the del rey. Use the ATM machines that are also located there.

Have not checked the exchange rate at the HDR casino in over a year but it use to be one of the worst in the gulch. Have they changed their policy and now use current market rates?

You're right, it's not very good. It was 505 in February. You're paying 15¢ per dollar for convenience. Damn, my apartment reception desk gave me 518.

I have always changed dollars at the Colonial Casino next door to Del Rey. They pay about bank rates without the hassle. I also like th ATM there as it doesn't take your card and prints a ticket for you to get cash at window so you an get it any way you want it.rbc100

I like to use dollars for the DR girls. I usaly Take 50s, 20s and a few 10s. Or just take some 50's and use colones for the rest. I don't recomend taking 100s because the girls don't give change. I use colones for everything else including the MPs.
Have fun,
Win

What is the basic quick conversion when dealing with a chica. For instance, in Mexico you usually het about 11:1 pesos to dollars, but when dealing with chicas the quick conversion is always 10:1, therefore saving approx 10% when paying in pesos.

What conversion rate do the girls in the gulch bars, and do they usually quote in dollars or colones first.

In Mexico they always quote in dollars first.

Normally they quote in dollars but always bargain and your price will come down. Also, often if you pay in colones, you will pay a bit less. For example, say you find someone for $60, most will take 30 thousand colones. Easy to figure at 500 colones per dollar, but the actual rate is around 518 as already mentioned. 500 per dollar just makes it easy for quick calculations.
