I think he might have been referring to the Roja Zone

I remember hearing tell of it as the "Red Light District", but he was quick to add in, not the one you want to visit haha

yeah thats it. is their anyway to end up near there by mistake or are any of the clubs near by?

Zona Rojo stretches from Coca Cola bus terminal (calle 16 y avenida 1 - 3) north and east to calle 4 y avenida 11.

Definitely not a place to be after dark and in some sections not very safe at any time.
