Post subject:  Married.. Ring on or Off in CR ??

So im planning a trip to CR in the spring and the main purpose of going is to get play from the Tica’s maybe nothing more then just getting attention but I desperately need that being married at 25 with a 1 year old and my wife is actually a tica. Obviously she wont be going! But my question is should I leave the ring on or off. it seems I get more play from women here in the USA with the ring but don’t know anything about CR. I cant be the only married guy going to CR to have a good time.

I don't think the working girls care, but why not try it both ways? Report back when you find out, maybe I'll buy a ring if it makes me look thinner.

The only thing that matters to the chicas is the "GREEN" in your wallet. 8)

I'd be afraid of getting jacked for it on the street. You'd have some splaining to do when you get home.

I have heard of a lot of cases of people having bracelets, necklaces, watches, etc being taken in a strong arm robbery but I have never heard, seen or been told of a guy being relieved of his wedding band.

Have I lived a sheltered life? Is this a common occurrence? Are street thugs really taking wedding bands? Inquiring minds want to know.

I saw Circus and El Ciego jack the fruit vendor by Chelles for some bags of tangerines. Deplorable conduct.

something needs to be done about those two.

No wonder the Del Rey wants to build a bridge.

ID with all due respect. If it is worth anything they will jack it from you. Although I still can't belive that when I got robbed they didn't take my passport.

I think you are the only married guy going down there. I know I'm not while down there. Kind of like no prisoners are guilty in jail.

Alfa96874967,
Welcome to the board. I can't believe that nobody's given you the correct info yet.

The answer to your question is clearly stated, in the Master Diario Of CR Law, located at the National Registry in San Jose.

CR Statute # 10743.52 - SJO Ordinance 5482.6 Page 181 Paragraph 6E Sub-Section 27QL states: "If a married gringo partakes in extracurricular consentual sexual activity within the country, he must either (A) wear his wedding band or (B) have a framed photograph of him and his esposa (and Ch*ldren if applicable), and this photograph must be within view, no more than 72.4 centimeters from the edge of the bed, mattress or massage table."

Sorry Alfa. Of course I'm joking. Couldn't resist. It's Friday afternoon, and I'm bored as hell! IMHO, I don't think it makes a bit of difference, whether you wear your wedding band in CR or not. I think that most chica's assume that ALL gringo's are married, regardless of what the gringo tells them, and regardless of him wearing / not wearing a ring.

Don't sweat it. Just have a good time, and don't get any lipstick on your collar!

Mucho Gusto

Put it in the safe as soon as you get into your room and don't take it out until it's time to leave for the airport.

That's just my advice. You don't want to chance losing it or having to ripped off. Like Dapanz said, they (robbers or chicas) will steal anything that's not locked up or nailed down and has any value.

LOL.. well then maybe i will just take it off, My wife says that when we Both go were Both not going to be wearing rings beacuse she does not want to get robbed which is one of the Biggest reasons she does not want to go back. She was robbed at Gun point and they took her car and eveything and said if she calles the police they will kill her family, becasue they had her address and stuff..

I just want to get out of this Country soo bad and go to CR..

thanks for all your replys

here is a story in the Fort Lauderdale paper about people being robbed for their pants.

Another Boynton Beach pants bandit has struck.

Roderick Shelton, 29, was robbed at 4 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Miner Road, becoming at least the fourth person in Boynton Beach to be held up at gunpoint for their pants in three months. The trouser thief ran south on Ocean Parkway toward Seacrest Blvd.

Police are investigating whether the four cases are connected.

Joseph Mack begged for his life about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 28 near his home in the 400 block of Northwest 15th Street. Witness Oteria Pratt, 55, said she was coming back from church when she heard the screams.

"Don't kill me, don't shoot me, take it all, please don't kill me," she told police Mack screamed. The robber got away.
