Post subject:  Best Time?

I am planning a trip for later this year, I cannot get away before the end of May, and would like to go as soon after as I could, but what is the best time of year to go. I dont mind the rainy season, I have lived most of my life in the tropics or sub tropics, rain is part of life.

Gb,
Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27) is usually pretty lively. There will be a poker tourney and a get-together of some kind I'm sure. There's a Roll Call thread up already.

Other than that, anytime is the best time to go. The "rainy" season is not bad at all. It usually rains a couple of hours in the afternoon. The rains are usually pretty light, but it can come down hard too. On one of my last rainy season trips, it only rained 2 out of the 6 days.

But think about it, most "activities" that you will partake in are done indoors (in your room or mp), unless you're into the outdoor thing  , so why would you even care if it's raining. The last thing you'll be thinking about over there will be the rain.

Gringobill,

I am a seasoned traveler who has visited and vacationed in many, many places. Untill my first trip to CR I was very weather concious.
CR is one of those few truly great places in the world where you don't give a flying phuck if it is raining or not. After all you're not coming her to be an ectourist!

I went to CR in aug of 05. It was pretty lively. If it gets dull, head for a taxi and wip out your CRT guide. Plenty of places to check out.

I just got back Monday, 1am from CR. Xmas night was a ghost town. Everyone closed but the Del Rey. I strolled into the DR. Volume way down but always a decent chica to be found if you work for it.

I really didn't mind the city being light on tourist. I had the time off and it fit my schedule. It was a little difficult getting tours though. No people/no go. Gary at Paradiso ATV tours was gracious enough to take me on a mano y mano tour. Gary was a professional superbike racer back in his day and competes in Quad races. He taught me a whole lot about riding.
