After reading many, many trip reports, I was wondering about something. Why pay $60-$80 an hour for a chica you pickup at the BM, then pay another fee to get her into your room for that hour? The same hour of service at a MP is $40-50 an hour. Is it because the MP's are closed and more action is needed? Is it the illusion of being with a girl friend? Maybe the opportunity to find a prettier and less "experienced" chica? Or as I have read many times, is it that many of the MP's don't have beds and the massage tables are not the most comfortable to have sexo on? I am just curious how may view this. I'm guessing that it may be a combination if all of the above. As a newbie planning my first visit for a week in December, I'm attempting to figure out how to allocate my financial resources for chica R &R.
Thanks

most of the MP's I've visited have beds, New Fantasy, ZB, and even the inexpensive Tico MP's.

True, the beds may not be much.

Also, at the MP's, you can have your pic from the available little darlings for half an hour from anywhere from approx $7 to $20.

Also, at the MP's like ZB, it is not likely you will find money/items missing.

But, the other things you mentioned come into play also.

Personally, I always enjoyed an early morning massage with an afternoon massage as well, before retiring to the august confines of the BM/KL or SL (or even the the NY Bar, Dos Gringos, Nashville Bar, etc...) to hopefully bump into a suitable little darling for an extended session back at whatever hotel I was rooming.

There are so many other options/possibilities for meeting both pro and non-pro, that this reply doesn't begin to address.

For approx $80, you can have 4 half hour sessions at the ZB, New Fantasy or even more sessions at a Tico MP (best visited during the daytime)

And for another approx $80, I would wager you could get the company of most BM/KL/SL little darlings for at least an hour.

Approx $160 a day should get you attention at least 5 times using this model.

Stick to Tico MP's and $160 may get you over 20 half hour sessions.

You may also convince the little darlings from the Tico MP's to meet you back at your hotel after their shift or on their off days. You may find that a nice dinner and $40 or less is all required for their company for part of the evening.

anyway, you'll find out for yourself and hopefully post a trip report.

Juliofrippo:

As with most experiences in life the only one I can speak of with any authority is my experience. I prefer the BM over the MP's. Why?
For the most part the girls have seen less service. Notice that I said for the most part there are definitely notable exceptions. I am not as price sensitive as most people so I'm more concerned with a quality experience and less concerned with expenses.

A second problem I have with MPs is probably only in my head but it is there. I am concerned that the lady may not have the option to reject me if she finds me distasteful. I consider the selection process at the BM a two-party activity. I can be rejected just as Exley as I can reject. I'm not offended by that remember it's just a business deal.

For the shopper with value in mind the MPs are definitely the way to go but you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not shop the BM. As always just my opinion.

Have been to CR 14 times. Have been to most of the MPs and have spent many nights at the Key Largo and Blue Marlin.

The answer is simple. More selection and much higher quality.

At the MP you will get quality ranging from 4-7. At the BM or KL your selections will range from 3 to 9.

If you want a 9, you will not find it at a MP. You must go to BM or KL.

More selection and you are given a chance to do a little PR work with all the gals.

Another thing is the time factor.

Massage parlors close at various hours but almost always before midnight. If you're a night owl (I am) then you are out of luck after say 10 30.

Another time related thing is that a massage parlor visit will use up about 45 minutes. So what do you do with the other 15.25 hours of the day? Well, go have a drink? How about the Blue Marlin? If you're visiting San Jose you'll have to find something to do other than massage parlors.

My first trip here I only went to New Fantasy, which did the job for me just fine. I later expanded to include the gulch during night hours. Then I discovered Tico places and that became my preferred option. Then I got enough phone numbers (and enough chicas got mine) to where I turn down more 'company' per week than I used to get in a year back in the States.

But my advice to a newbie, by all means go to the MPs, partake, and then go sit in the BM or KL (or both) and enjoy the parade.

Thanks to all, this Info is great. All of this is what makes CRT a great value. Sounds like a combo of each is the best way to go(variety is the spice of life). Although I'm far from wealthy, I am assuming that at my age and physical condition, my sex drive and energy will give out before my budget, irregardless of the Viagra, Levitra etc. But I'm more than willing to make the supreme sacrifice and give it my all.
By the way. Tico MP's were mentioned more than once. Can someone be kind enough to list some of them for me. They sound intriguing and thrifty!
Thanks

download the map.

there are some near the intersection of Calle 6 and Avenida 5.

an early morning stroll in the market area where you can pick up some fresh fruit such as tangerines or whatever is in season, and then maybe breakfast before hitting the MP's is a nice way to start the day.

I like to buy a bag of fruit to hand out to the little darlings along with a copy of one of the local papers like La Nacion to leave with the little darlings sitting in the waiting areas.

sometimes, if you eat breakfast at one of the small cafes/coffee shops in the area, you'll find yourself in the company of some of the little darlings having breakfast themselves before starting work at around 8:30.

be the big spender and buy them breakfast, they'll remember when you get your morning massage.

My first experience in SJ was Arte y Sauna (RIP) and though I've tried the bar scene many times since then, I still prefer the simplicity and overall experience of the MP scene. I rarely even go to the BM any more even though it is only a few blocks away when I'm in town. Why hang out in crime central at night? My act is a lot lower profile than many of the brethren here, but why borrow trouble? Amon has everything I need except for a decent grocery store. Even a pulperia with more than the tienda in front of La Criolita would be appreciated.
