Going to CR on 07/20-07/28 and staying at Del Ray.
Woundering if going to Panama for a few days is worthwhile?
Expected air cost? Where to stay? Whats to do? Etc.
Or as plan "b" the best beach in CR?

If you are only going to be around for 8 days, I don't think it's worth trying to squeeze in Panama. Unless it's always been your dream to see the canal. It's not that much cheaper to fly to Panama City from San Jose than from many places in the USA. If you aren't going to fly, you'll eat up a giant part of your time. Since you are posting on THIS forum, I suspect the Del Rey will be enough for you, and if you need a break, Costa Rica has more touristy things to do than Panama, IMHO. |

Gotta agree with Bilko--for such a short period of time, I would spend it all in CR, instead of messing with airflights, reacclimating, etc. Make the most out of CR, and save Panama for a future adventure. |
