How much money do you estimate you save when you convert your $s to colones? Almost everyone and every establishment accepts dollars. I know you don't get close to the best conversion rate but how much of a difference does it amount to? If I am staying at the SL and use my credit card to pay my bill, how much am I getting screwed? over paying cash in colones?

Naw bud. Yer hotel will take dollars. Chicas, and tourist places. As for the actual businesses, they don't have time for the conversion nonsense. They'll change ya 500:1, where you lose 6% of your dollars.
