Are you in town now? If so maybe we could meet up and I will give your some ideas that I have found good for hitting the maximum number of places with the least amount of walking.

No I'm not in town... May be back last week apr/first week of May.

I will be in SJ at that time as well. BB, if you happen to be at the SL during that week, please post on the forum or pm me and I will do my best to meet you at SL. I'm very interested in having someone show me 360 and a few other places around town that I haven't yet seen.

I also recommend spending at least a 1/2 day on Paseo Colon, if you're in one of the gulch hotels I recommend taking a taxi to "KFC" and then checking out the 5 or 6 MP's there. There's a map on the internet, it might be here somewhere as well.

After a good pounding and you've worked up a good appetite, there's tons of great little Tico restaurants worth exploring, a nice little park, a great Korean restaurant close to the Oasis if you like hot Asian food and numerous little shops to check out. If you're feeling energetic the west end has a huge park called Sabana Park.

I recommend taking a taxi back as well because it's uphill and you should be tired out from walking and pounding plus it's more of a walk than you think it is. I do this every time I visit San Jose, you get out of the gulch, see a different (and very safe) neighborhood and get to check out some new chicas. I forget to mention, these MP's have cheap rates for 3-somes, have a TOTALLY different day !

instead of taxiing back, you can catch the 'Sabana Cemetario' bus (yellow/blue) that picks up every 10 minutes across the street from the KFC. Cost is like 600c, and if you speak a bit of Spanish, it's a great way to meet some locals.

My friend at c600 that would be an expensive bus ride (SJ to Cartago is only about c500) :P The bus you are referring to is c165 or the Cemetario Sabana bus (same company and color) is c195. And yes it can be a lot of fun riding it in--always some cute chicas and crowded!!! yep, I am a "Viejo verde"!!!!

Thank Gawd yer there to correct these things ... it's hard to remember coinage purchases. I could have sworn it was a 500 and a 100. So much for my memory. Chit! I could have overpayed the chicas too!

Oh, and what does it mean to be Old and Green anyway? Can we call you Oscar the Geriatric Grouch?

Viejo Verde: latin-american spanish slang for "Dirty Old Man"

The actual Spanish slang is "Viejo rabo verde" which actually translates to "old green tail" !!! in Latin America the "rabo" is almost always left off leaving just "old" and "dirty"!! :P

Now in Bashful's defense he is a "chavo bien" or "Majo" who is looking for a "chapete"!!! :P  and has not reached the "Viejo verde" status "yet"!! :P

chavo bien=Hunk, cool person,
Najo= hot daddy
Chapete= a chica that is an easy lay

You got me banned and hijacked my thread eventhough, I was only trying to find reliable SJ- MPs guide ( I was even willing to buy him lunch /drinks)

Are you happy now :?:

NO, I am never happy to see a new guy get banned!!!

All the guys who you mention and who posted were trying to help you with advise based on, in most cases, many years experience mongering and especially in CR. No one was trying to mistreat you or be unfair to you. We did not get you banned; you did that all by yourself with your derogatory comments and insults. As I said earlier, the chip you seem to have on your shoulder is probably going to cause you a lot of problems especially here in CR. All we were trying to do was educate you about certain aspects of mongering in CR. How you actually do it is 100% up to you! How much you enjoy the experience is also 100% up to how you do it!!! Many of us who tried to help you have over the years seen and listened to many guys with "attitudes" come here, have a shitty time and then spend the next weeks/months blaming everything and everyone but themselves for their having had a shitty time. You refused to even discuss the issues or consider that we might be right; you immediately became defensive, arrogant and belligerent .

Again YOU GOT YOURSELF BANNED!! And coming right back with a "slightly changed handle" is sure to really help your cause with the ADMINS!! I explained in my first post why I would/could not help you with a tour. As for all of us being "baby boomers"-wrong! At 72 I am too old to be a baby boomer by about 3 years. A couple of others are way too young to be from the baby boomer era.

Your resentment of "old" people is something that seems to be becoming more prevalent on CRT which is rather sad. Some of those you made rather nasty "Old age related" remarks about, I actually consider to be young. But they have probably forgotten more about how to monger successfully than you young guys with the "I have all the answers and don't have any need to learn from old farts" attitude will ever know.

I can only wish you the best of luck in your adventures!!
