I could buy Tico clothing, slab on coats of Man Tan, and I still wouldn't ever be taken for a Tico. Very few Ticos are ever as big, and fat, as I am.

Everything in life is viewed as different, not only due to age, but by the individual, and their psyche. I would look like a fool dressing in clothes of someone 1/3 my age. Come to think of it, I probably look like a fool anyway, but....

I grew up in Compton. My friends were of varied ethnicities. On of my black friends told me after the first Watt's riots; "Sh*t dude, I should have taken some of the "white boy" clothes for you. All the white peoples clothes were left on the racks." I still chuckle when I think about the looters looking at the "white boy" clothes, and wouldn't even take them for free.

What I find even more amusing, at 60 (my age) my dad's idea of a good time was going out and square dancing!!!!!

Dress however damn well it makes you feel good. Phuck everyone else as long as you're clean.

The longer I live here the more I tend to dress like a typical Costa Rican. Not sure why. I never wear shorts outside the home except when I go to the beach; my shirts are becoming more drab and less Aloha although I do maintain a stock of shirts for visiting the SL to watch football; and after someone mentioned that only Gringos wear white tennies I looked over my pot belly and even my shoes are brown colored buff leather.

Oh God, next thing you know I will forgo steak and cabernet savignon for a big bowl of rice and beans washed down with Cacique.
