I have met Roadman as well, and he would never waste his (or our) time on nonsense like this. I found him to be a very straight-up, honest guy.

BB provides us the most direct, timely ground reports. If he can't walk around anymore, we all lose.

Count me in. However, if we're gunna get him new knees, can we get him shinbone extensions too? He's almost as short as I am.

BB knows that new knees need to be considered a VERY LAST resort for a knee problem..........but count me in, too.

my 74 year old brother just had both knees replaced and he says he's better than ever. dude works in mammoth as a ski instructor and emergency mountain rescue member. would never occur to me to do both knees at the same time but he is a different kind of guy.

At the same time, if a guy can't get it done in CR, he should have to tuck his penis and balls behind his butt for the rest of the day...

BB, I've sent you a pm.

Guys, I will be in CR from 4/29 - 5/2 and only have knowledge of about 6 MPs. Anyone else with experience willing to become the new tour guide? I really would like to see what else is out there.

(Edit: I am NOT one of the fools who welched on BB)

Guys, it just occurred to me this guy Rocky_506 is likely the same guy who posted a few months ago as Rocky_2020 on the thread "They Put Cuba Dave on Blast" and sought to offend everyone that he could. Then just as suddenly as he came online, he dissapeared and all of his posts were deleted which made the remaining thread very confusing. I felt at the time it was an alter ego of Admin3 since he and I were having a bit of a tiff on that thread about the CRT Facebook page, but The Admin said that it was not Admin3 under a false name, but that he did not know who Rocky_2020 in fact was.

No, I met Roadmn295 last month in person and he is a gentleman. Polite, respectful, and not an ounce of immature machismo. In other words, no way they can be the same guy.

Just a couple of comments to (Hopefully) end all this crap!!!

1st: Thank God I declined this troll's request. And if you truly are not a troll, I am sorry, but your truly come across as one to a lot of very experienced people!!! I have meet this type many times over the years- they come here with ALL the answers, they are "Gods gift to the chicas", they are the "ugly American", they are everything disliked by the chicas and the Ticos and by many of us Gringos! They spend a week or so here doing everything their way (the wrong way), then write a trip report all about how bad San Jose is, how terrible the chicas are in bed and how over priced they are, they brag about how they plucked the crap out of xxx number of chicas and mistreated them because she (they) did not want to do all the things he wanted her to do. They brag about how little they paid, or over paid, the chicas. They complain about how they got robbed while walking the streets at midnight in cargo shorts, a loud shirt, a ballcap on backwards, flipflops, and drunk!! If he is anything in person like he is behind the secrecy of the board, I would very likely left him alone on 6th street!!  If guys would only learn that acting correctly and treating ALL people with respect will ALWAYS get you a 1000% increase in the quality of your experiences in life!! In this case I do not believe anyone was trying to pick on him; we were just trying to enlighten him on some of the things one should know about CR and the Ticos/Ticas, and especially about the makeup (nationalities) of the putas working here. But he immediately took offence to everything that was said and seemed to be determined he was going to do everything just the opposite of what was being suggested to him!! All I can say is "GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR COSTA RICAN EXPERIENCES"!!!

2nd: I am not going to have knee replacement as long as I can avoid it (hopefully never). And if I do ever have to have it or anything else done I will most likely have it done right here in CR. Unlike many , and maybe I am wrong, but I have utmost confidence in most medical treatment here. I have not had to have much done but what I have had has always been very good. There are good and there are bad Doctors in every country; you just have to do your homework first unless it is an emergency!! I am starting the process to get my residency (after living here 8 years) so soon I will have insurance here and will not have to be worried about having to return to the states to get anything done.

3rd: I have always enjoyed going on walks with guys (new and old to CR). I have always done it because I enjoy meeting guys, showing them places that they might otherwise never know about or find, visiting with them and giving them my outspoken, highly opinionated ideas on mongering and especially mongering in CR. The one thing if nothing else that I have learned over the last 53 years of Mongering is: there are as many ways to monger as there are guys doing it!!!!!!!! No one way is totally right nor totally (maybe almost  ) wrong!!! The one thing that counts is that you, as your own individual, enjoy what you are doing and that you have the "smarts' to change the way you are doing things if you are not getting the results your are hoping for!! I have NEVER done the walks for money nor any other personal gain. I am a teacher at heart and a very firm believer in "SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE"!! I really feel sorry for the few people who are so unhappy with life and so into personal gain or else, that they can not accept that anyone would ever do anything without there "being something in it for me"!!!

Though I will no longer commit in advance to doing walks, if you run into me in the SL or in a MP, introduce yourself and if I am going to be going to 1, 2, or maybe more places, you will always be more than welcome to join me!!!

Bashful and I are working on a google map which will show (in layers) many different things including (I think) routes to take for different areas around SJ. Just not sure when we will get it all done-both of us have been kind of busy lately.

Are you in town now? If so maybe we could meet up and I will give your some ideas that I have found good for hitting the maximum number of places with the least amount of walking.

I have a separate map that BB will highlight as the walking paths. I think it is best to create separate 'walks' ... one through Paseo Colon, one down the Calle 11 route, etc. This way anyone can taxi to the start point, walk, get laid, and then taxi to the next area and do it all over again.
I will try to have the general map ready for review early next week. I am taking my daughter to the Cape this weekend. I am hoping it goes better than the Disney camping trip where we set the place on fire.

No I'm not in town... May be back last week apr/first week of May.....
An interactive map would be cool, let me know if I can help
I'll drop you a message when I'm in town next...
I don't fancy myself as a San Jose expert, but I enjoy the company of like minded guys who are in CR to get away from the state side women.... I like showing guys the basic daytime spots I like to stop in at to have a beer or coffee, and peruse the "merchandise"

A basic route I take my 1st day in town is
1. amistad to the pharmacy and phone shop...
2. To sportsman to get the exit visa out of the way and view the late morning talent..
3. Stop in at new fantasy
4. Zona 2 for a few beers... Scores to see whats there
5. Occasionally Soda Peru for some fish....
6. Beer at poas..
If it's nice and my legs aren't worn out take a lap of central market area or delrey area and relax/idem Or head back in reverse checking out Mona Lisa / Dunn... On the walk I like to show where the ATMs are, the various sodas, shops etc

I usually do this by myself anyway, so to have some 1st timers I just met tag along and show them where and what the place look like is not a big deal... It's a pretty mainstream route, but it's easy, safe, easily navigated ... Plus it's not over whelming for a first timer....

Every guy is different some guys seem to love the daytime scene at new fantasy, others scores... Others relax... Others love the del Rey....etc...
Some guys can't wait til the night scenes...

End of the day it's a quality problem to have in the San Jose Gulch when you realize there's not enough time in the day to explore everything, and that there is more others can show you...

I also recommend spending at least a 1/2 day on Paseo Colon, if you're in one of the gulch hotels I recommend taking a taxi to "KFC" and then checking out the 5 or 6 MP's there. There's a map on the internet, it might be here somewhere as well.

After a good pounding and you've worked up a good appetite, there's tons of great little Tico restaurants worth exploring, a nice little park, a great Korean restaurant close to the Oasis if you like hot Asian food and numerous little shops to check out. If you're feeling energetic the west end has a huge park called Sabana Park.

I recommend taking a taxi back as well because it's uphill and you should be tired out from walking and pounding plus it's more of a walk than you think it is. I do this every time I visit San Jose, you get out of the gulch, see a different (and very safe) neighborhood and get to check out some new chicas. I forget to mention, these MP's have cheap rates for 3-somes, have a TOTALLY different day !
