Yep - that was a mistake. She will most likely hock the computer. A $400 laptop in America is probably worth $800 in CR. If you want to give her a present, give her something small that she can use.

My favorita who reguarly sends RFMs (which I ignore) asked me to buy her a computer so she could learn english. I was like - yeah right - the computer is not going to teach you English. You need classes.

FYI... I just got another RFM from her today.

Initially, I thought you were just playing the game and doing a good job. $40 for all day is awesome!!!! However, she has found your soft spot and now is shaping a twisted way to get you to dump money on her.

I'd run from her now.

Jag , since you bought the laptop already, there is still a chance you may cut the loss.

Don't give the laptop to her until the end of your next visit. In that way , you will still have a whole trip to find out if she is really worth the $400 you invested.

You already have lots of great advice here , so Good luck Jag. .

Yep - the one from Puntarenas. Read a separate post in Girls Review. She went to SJ last night to fulfill her money needs.

It's always the same. I had a feeling it was her. I ready Zippy's post in that thread and he is dead on. Couldn't have written it better myself.

VERY interesting thread.

And *I* thought *I* was cynical !   That is, of course, until a buddy of mine recently went through HIS tale of woe and assured me "women=golddigger"......

Well, I guess I'm not the biggest cynic around after all.

FWIW, a $400 computer in 8 months does NOT sound like much of a golddigger to me. Either that, or she's a real amateur at it. (But what do *I* know ??? )

Anyway JAG, so long as you keep you eyes open you sound like you'll be OK. But relationships amongst 2 people are difficult enough without one of them being a working girl (that would be HER of course    ).

Like VB, *I* am a great believer in odds and probability. More than 50% of marriages end up in divorce. And that's with (mostly) "normal" people  . With the added "issues" of being a working girl, welllllllll,,,,,,,, I'd say those original odds (early in the thread of a projected 99.99% failure rate) may be slighly understated

Face some facts. While it's not doomed to fail, the probability of it doing just that is VERY HIGH !!!

Then again, someone ALWAYS wins the lottery. :?

OTOH, if can somehow escape the biz and lead a relatively normal life without it for a fair bit of time and still is interested in you, well, who knows ?

Just tread lightly Papi Chulo !

Good luck to you (and keep us posted)

"I spent most of my money on licquor, food and women, the rest I wasted."
You pay for it one way or the other. At least with a pro you should have an idea of what it is going to cost you. Look at it this way. How hard would it be to love her if she was willing to work and provide for you while you took care of the house, for the rest of her life.
Remember, they are all for sale. Some just cost you more. Some know ways to play the game men have never dreamed of.
Enjoy the time you spend with her, but let her fend for herself.

Try an airline...

Most if not all have some kind of logistics/mail service setup.

Other option would be DHL.

While I have never been to CR (Oct. of this year will be my first trip), I mongered in Viet Nam for eighteen months (never spent more than 500P= $4.50), and have visited AMP and AAMP's since. I only state this to let you know that I have been involved in "the game", just not CR yet.

My advice would be to tell her that you have "may need to have surgery" or some other health issue on why you cannot send her money. A woman that cares about you will be more worried about your health than the money. Depending on how she reacts after hearing she will not be receiving money for a while (especially for health reasons), you will have your answer. Do not send more than you could afford to "lose" in any case.

IMHO it seems that many of the thoughts in your posts were "head thinking". As a man, I am good at head thinking (fixing), it is what I have been taught by society as how to be a powerful man. Drop the eighteen inches into your heart and listen to what your heart truly tells you. My head (ego) will easily lie to me, by listening to my heart I never go wrong.

As an elder and a man, if my post has helped you in anyway, I am humbled.

Health & happiness to you.

Santas Bro

Santas Bro,

Did you note that Jag's original post was made over a year ago?

Your elder's advice is priceless, but I'm curious if Jag is even around much these days.

I agree... all women play us, from our own Moms to the woman we choose to marry, to the Girl Scout selling cookies, to the hookers in Gringo Gulch.

Mongers take the easy way out, distilling the man-woman transaction down to cash for gash. Has it not ever been so? It's too bad for most of us that our hearts are linked directly to our balls. I wish I could be a more cynical bastard, but sadly I still believe in chance, magic, romance, truth and the human spirit.

I'm hopeless.

JAG is still around but he posts under a different handle now. I ran into him briefly over the 4th of July.

I believe his next trip is to Asia so he might not be on CRT too much.
