I have had arthritis in both knees and hips for years but since moving here it has been much better than it was when I lived in the states (climate here is much better for this problem). I chose to just ignore the pain and walk. In the last month or so the pain in my right knee has gotten much worse, to the point I can now only walk a couple of blocks without having to stop for a while. It is my problem and I just have to live with it. Knee replacement surgery will be a last resort! I am still walking as much as the pain will permit, but much slower and with a cane. I do still workout daily; just have had to eliminate some of the exercises that put to much strain on the old knee. And for my age I do consider myself to be in good health.

If it does come to that (underlined above), I have friends in India (doctors of considerable repute) that could help at a much, much lower cost than in the US. I am not aware of the costs in CR.

Let me know if I can be of any help (In the event such a procedure becomes inevitable).

Though I have never been to SJ, and am looking forward to at least meeting you (not in expectation of helping me learn the ropes, or anything like that), given all I have read about you here.
