Penis Risin"....your right. I'm gonna apologize here to BB57 and anyone else I offended with any of my comments. I really don't want ya to think that I'm a prick, because I'm not. Have a drink with me and you'll find out right away. I just try to stand up for the new guy when something is said about us in a negative manner...that's all. Take it for what it's worth. Happy Holidays.

Sorry your thread got highjacked. I was just watching from the peanut gallery. As I might be the only person who knows all the people involved in person, I have to say Yatz, BD and PR would probably be fast friends had they met at SL over drinks...

As for your original post:

PmDavid wrote:
*meet Ticas or others (chicas)

Can do that in lots of places in San Jose. Best advice is get the map (electronic or printed) and start on day one finding your way around. Walking is safe during the day in MOST areas. Take a wing to Calle 6 or hook up with CRT member Esposodebarbie for a tour. If you get out to Jaco, Cocal is THE place with Le Loft, Orange Pub and Monkey Bar active later at night. Hotter girls but little selection from 4-11am or so. Best on Thur-Sat nights.

PmDavid wrote:
*Go pacific fishing on a boat

Easiest way is out of Jaco. Lots of options on when/how BUT it will be expensive.

PmDavid wrote:
*Visit the countryside - a farm, a forest - an adventure.

Without paying for a private driver like me, best option on that is to do a coffee plantation tour. If you make it to Jaco, there is ATV tours, zip lines and a neat crocodile boat tour that is excellent.

PmDavid wrote:
*EAT well with fresh food

There are a LOT of good places to eat and a lot will be fresh but most aren't in the Gulch. There are several excellent places discussed both in San Jose and Jaco in that section of CRT.

PmDavid wrote:
*lots of massages

That won't be a problem

*visit dentist*visit dermatologist.

Do your research online and make appointments. Costa Rica tends to shut down during the time you are here. Government goes on a month-long vacation as do many Tico professionals. You won't find either of these in Jaco...only San Jose.

Hope that helps...if there is anything else I can do or questions I can answer, don't hesitate to let me know.

why you including me in that list? I didn't blast on Yatzie. I just offered him my point of view on what was said, which was in response to his point of view on same.

Yatzie, no worries, and no offense taken. Being called a 'sheep' is the least offensive thing I have been called on here.

Just remember that's how we got syphilis...OTOH you can keep your hands soft, rubbing through the lanolin in their wool. If they have a ribbon leave'm alone--somebody's favorita.

And HIV from monkeys???????

Hey David - Tica does not mean whore or working girl - it simply means female Costa Rican - I think you are misusing the term

PmDavid,

I too am sorry your thread got hijacked! In your OP which was posted 2 days after joining CRT you stated you were planning a trip here the last week of the year. Being new I assumed you were not aware of the fact that for most, especially a 1st timer, hat is not the best time to be here. My post was in relation to that problem and trying to give you some input base on having spent 11 Christmases here over the years including the last 8.

Yatzie seems to have a very serious problem with us "old timers" giving any advise to newbies! Seems he thinks anytime we (and especially me) do, it is some how belittling and insulting the newbie. Not sure why he seems to feel this way and quite frankly I do not care what he thinks. He seems to be just another in a very lone string of guys who come on this and other boards just to cause controversy and problems and heaven forbid they ever contribute any useful or intelligent info.

Once again, that week is not the best time to be here but you can still have fun! As I said, the MPs will be open most of the time, there will be some chicas in the REY and SL, There will be a lot fewer guys here. Therefore there will just be fewer guys competing for fewer chicas. I hope you have a very good and enjoyable trip, and if I can be of any help to you while you are here feel free to contact me via a PM.

Making my 3rd visit in late January, staying at La Amistad for 5 days before I move on to more relaxing cr locations. Could one of you fine gents suggest a spot in San Jose (preferably walking distance to la) where a fella can get some good cerveche? My mouth is watering at the thought of cold pickled fish and hot Central American chicas!

Soda Peru across the street from Scores
Also the big bar in the Dunn Inn. Get the ceviche mixto, it's not on the menu.

Many like the ceviche at Soda Peru but keep in mind it is NOT Tico ceviche. It is Peruvian, and therefore it has a LOT more onion. If you want Tico ceviche (much better ceviche IMHO) go to just about any Tico soda and you will get good ceviche. I really cannot recommend any one place, Over the years I have eaten ceviche in many places in SJ and cannot remember any not being good. Actually probably one of the best is also in a place many gringos would not eat-a fish market right next door to Pandera Rosa!! I usually make it myself from the recipe I got many years ago (almost 20) from what was at that time the #1 chef in Costa Rica. It was the first time I had ever had ceviche, and it was so good I almost got sick from eating so much of it (4 big bowls in about an hour)!

Actually the last time I had ceviche at the SL it was very good!! The San Cristabal sodas in the Central Mercado is excellent (3 sodas grouped together towards the south side just about in the middle east to west) !!
