it is what it is. enjoy and be proud. if you are ashamed of the hobby maybe you should rethink about participating.
I take your point, but think guys, especially those new to Costa Rica, should get out and see <at least some of> the country vs spending 99% of their time in places like the DelRey
That said, I don't find it a problem for those to experience the country on their own terms, and if they want to do a little of this and that, its OK - I do CR on my own terms and that's anyone's right.
Strange as it may be to understand, there are those who don't enjoy the girls
and find the whole "scene" is not for them - and again, its OK - everyone should do what they feel comfortable with and I don't take it as a put down (not that I really give a damn) that guys either don't enjoy the girls, the gulch atmosphere, or whatever, because it does not effect me or my experiences
Great point, I come down somewhat regularly and sometimes with the same exact group of "gringos" they are there to fish, maybe 60% or 70% of them will hit the BB and play the game, but a good percentage just are not into it, and they don't stop any of the group from going to the BB or LeLoft or wherever. But it is a wonderful country and if you meet a 'good' one you should def. have her take you outside the normal 'trolling grounds" for some local experiences.
