Must have been that the La Amistad seismographic network was down. Now they have two things to work on. And, if by chance a meteor shower happens to hit within 10 miles of SJ during my next stay and the Astronomical team at the LA doesn't leave me a message to take my umbrella out with me, I think that will be it for me. I will start booking my stays at Hostel Marruecos where they have the best wake up service in town (Colombians, I think?).

After reading this post, I am really looking forward to my first stay at the (im)famous La Amistad. But, will that bridge be built soon? Sounds like a nice convenience, and with the seismological service, and the umbrella lending . . . . wow, sure beats the Holiday Inn!

Disappointed about the wake-up call service though, that would be a nice touch.

Whoever posted about the attempted double dipping was bang on. I'm a dyed in the wool Castillo lover, but I'm seriously thinking of giving La Amistad a try, I've only ever seen good things posted on here about them.

I got to stand up for the LA

Matt and the staff go out of there way to make sure their guests are comfortable, satisfied and if possible happy. I extended my stay at the last minute and they made my same room available. I was headed to Nicaragua and they made a great hotel referral. I made reservations at the last minute to return to their hotel and the held my room even though my bust was late and I did not get to the LA until almost 1:00 a.m.

So I have to give Matt and crew their props. I will stay there again,
