I have 5 trips under my belt, and each time I stayed between two and three weeks. I"m African-American and had no problems in costa rica, and to the contrary I found the the ticos and ticas to be extremely friendly towards me. I do speak a fair amount of spanish, and think that is best asset.
There are some of the ladies that are attracted more to black guys, and others that may shy away. I still think that the color green is the deciding factor to these ladies. I currently live in las vegas, and I would say that I am treated the same or better in costa rica or thailand.
My advice is to learn as much spanish as you can before your trip, and be prepared to have the time of your life. I may be there in late November for 10 days, so feel free to P.m. for info. Have a great time. The Crt'ers are also a great bunch of guys that will always help a brother out.
Other guys will disagree with this last point, but some of the bartenders will point you into the right direction of the sweet girls. Don't try to date the bartenders thou !!!
p.s. If you are a good dancer and can dance salsa, then you will need a bodyguard to keep the ladies off you. Latina's love to dance almost as much as the y love money. If you can take some salsa lesson before your trip, Then forget about!!

Girls are Girls are Girls, some like this.... some like that... some like this at that point in time... and tomorrow not. Get over the whole racism aspect some like small noses some like big noses it all depends on the girl, some like you thin some like your thick and the list goes on they all are fickle and all have different tastes,, the only thing I have ever heard was that one girl thought she was going to be put out of commission for the night so passed.

I've gotten approached and felt more love from the girls because I'm black. I have had ticas tell me they don't feel like I'm a gringo even though I'm from the US and I have braids so I almost feel like I fit in most places untill I open my mouth.

I've expereinced a little racism on the beach towns and that's only from Ticos mad cause I'm with a tica... maybe I'm just attracting the right chicas... Besides a couple of Tico haters I have no complaints in 3 trips.

sounds like everybody is pretty spot on. From my experience it's similar to most other latin american countries and the rest of the world outside of the states for that matter. In San Jose there is certainly not an abundance of blacks so the occasional looks will surface just because you will stand out. The looks are probably the same for any gringo of any color. Racism is pretty non-existant, if it's there then it is certainly not overt. As far as the girls go, I'll put it like I posted before. A small amount of chicas don't want to have anything to do with black guys...that is that way it is everywhere. You can spot these girls out because they will try to ignore you or give you attitude when they talk to you. The majority of girls don't care either way, if theyre working they only care about the green. At the other end of the spectrum there are a small amount of chicas who prefer black guys over all else...key is to find those ones bc they probably won't run up and jump in your arms. As far as pulling a legit chica I'd say black guys will have a tougher time on average. Like Cujo said...if you can talk to them (i.e. learn spanish) then you are head and shoulders above your american counterparts, black or white...My medicore spanish skills and a little game got me things I wouldn't have gotten without them.

I was there in February and hung at the Del Rey with a lot of Colombians for as little as 40 dollars for a session at the Castillo. I never paid above 60 dollar for any chica. My assumption is that they will see you as NORMAL as long as you can converse with them in their language, especially the Colombians who according to many here hang their noses in the air.

I actually went out clubbing with three of them at a night club far away from any part of town tourists ever visit and I won't tell you I wasn't "scared" somehow. I would not advice anybody to do that but it goes to show you how building somekind of trust with them makes them look at you as "equal" and hardly as a tourist. After being with them all night at the club, I went back to the Castillo with two of them and didn't have to pay for the night. Walked them to the Taxi the next morning and still in contact with them even till today.

On the downside, I was at the Zona Blue I couldn't session with the famous NAOMI. I asked for a session and she pointed her finger to another girl. That was my second time there and it was on day two. I didn't show up there no more. On day why though, I had the greatest session of my life still at the Zona Blue with the Famous Laura. That sex was excellent. She joked that she will be the one paying for it. But it was a great session.

In general, speaking spanish and being friendly is the key. They need to be comfortable with you.

I must confess although I live in the US, I original come from a third world country and can easily relate to people from countries like Colombia and Costa Rica. There is much in common and I can easily bring up instances to make my conversations livelier and give the impression we are on the same page. Maybe that was the reason I got to be paying way cheaper than what will be the norm. One thing though, don't approach any girl who doesn't want to be approached. If they sit idle at some corner, let them stay there. You don't wanna ruin your evening thinking about somebody being racist or whatever. Take it easy and enjoy.

It's YMMV with working girls. You didn't miss anything with Naomi. I felt she was hard core pro. However, to others in this forum she is numero uno and GFE. She wasn't that to me and she probably won't be for you, because she pointed to another girl when you wanted to session with her.

Just my experience....

When watching porn with girls, they almost universally do not want to see black men. Every time I select a movie with a black man they ask for "other".

The same girls tell me they don't want to go with black men. This does not stop them as I have seen several with blacks. I have never heard a good reason for their reluctance except that some say that blacks are less "gentlemen" and a couple said they were "cheated" by blacks.

In summary, there appears to be some racism in working girls, from my experience.

I have been in CR 9 times and have yet to experience any racism. Ladies look at me as I am green (as in greenbacks) like everybody else. This crap about they will not go with a black guy is BS

I read this thread closely before I wanted to reply. I love this shit. This is why I joined this group. We can talk about anything....

But, I am making my second trip on the 16th.

I am black.

When I came down the first time , and I swear on my unborn Ch*ldren, It was just like Rio.....I got nothing but attention when I went down. Matter of fact. Because I look a little younger then 34, I got even more attention from the younger ones re: style and from the older ones just because, and from all of them because of the myth . In almost every MP i visited and even on the tour I went on with Don Gordo in Feb 08....I heard most of the girls talk about me in Spanish, even thought I new what they were saying.....one of the bartenders even hopped on her cell phone to call her girlfriend in to work because I was there. I'm not saying I'm a model....but to them it was a little refreshing to see something younger, and different from the norm......

You will have no problems in Costa Rica my friend...if anything you'll probably blend in, depending on what you wear. Oh, and I have never been searched at the Del Ray....it seems that they only search the Ticos/Ticas... It's funny though..because I usually get carded everywhere....

That is cool and I'm going to find out in a few weeks . Do a lot of Ticas understand a fair amount of Engish there ?

I have only been once, but from my experience yes, a lot of Ticas (CR girls) do speak and understand English. Some were downright fluent, others poquito (a little bit). The Chicas who spoke more English, I was able to have a much better time with as my Spanish is poquito. Like the guys here say, learn more Spanish as I'm sure it will maximise your game.
