Prolijo and Elninocat thank you very much.

I'm pretty sure I have a wirless internet card but I will check with the macoutfitters I purchaes it from. Wireless sounds the way to go into it all and internet cafe's as a backup. I would love to stay two months. Pay my bills and draw bucko's for fun at a international bank.

I should have done a search but didn't think anyone had a mac but me. I love my mac. We are few to have such a great computer.

Well I think you can schedule your bills to be paid ahead of time, your bank might have a free bill payer service, mine does. Also a USB wireless card can be bought pretty cheap, which will support 802.11 B or G. My job is very involved with computers, including writing software for them, and the last thing I want to bring with me is a Computer :D

-Good Luck

It's probably best to order this online directly from the Apple Store:
http://www.apple.com, Store, Etc.... simple. You can read the rest of the spin on the web site, but basically this fits in anything Apple makes these days. You might even already have one (as you mention) depending on your model laptop... since I don't know your level of expertise, I'm just speculating here, not flaming. Another member mentioned that USB Wireless cards for laptops were inexpensive, but I'd really stick to Apple's solution should you need to purchase one. PowerBooks do have a PCM/CIA slot which could technically be used for this type of expansion, but then again, they already have an internal slot that probably already has this card, making an external USB card purchase superfluous.

I've never found an open wireless network I couldn't connect to with my older iBook G3/500. I surf most commonly from coffee houses and have never had an issue, even using my older 802.11b card. Granted, that's within the US, but in principle it shouldn't matter.

Bottom line is your Mac should behave just as well as any more "supported" PC would.

(Blurb from online store:)
AirPort Extreme Card

AirPort Extreme is the next-generation wireless networking solution from Apple. Based on a new high-speed wireless technology called 802.11g, it enables you to achieve data rates nearly 5 times faster than the original AirPort. You can connect to the Internet or to other computers without wires, additional phone lines, or complicated networking hardware from almost anywhere in your home, classroom, or business.
