The location of the Zona Blue on the Whiting map above is incorrect.
It is on the SouthEast corner of the same intersection, South of where it is indicated. It took me forever to find it using the map, for it was not there.
It is about where the letter "r" is in the word bar.

The latest version of the map posted below is from May 2004. There have been a few corrections and I added Farol Rojo, a massage parlor down the street from Zona Blue.

You need to download by right clicking and saving it as a file. It should fit perfectly on an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper when printing.

Here is a link to an article from an American who spent 23 years living in Costa Rica. He doesn't write as a representitive of any government or tourist agency, he tells it like it REALLY is.

I have a minor update to LUMPS map if anyone is interested.

Number 35 (New Lucy's) has changed its name to "La Mansion." The gringo rate appeared to be US $40 or 16,000 col. It is a purple building on a corner & has a sign above the door.

On the "Downtown San Jose" map, the place would be approximately 2.5 blocks South West of Bar Idem & Eros MP. It is on Ave 16 South & is across from a small park. You cant miss the place.

There were only 2 chicas working both times I was there and they were no where near the quality of other places for the same price.

Can anyone recommend any mongering activities other than the Del Rey on a Sunday evening? Unfortunately we don't arrive until after 10:00 pm and then leave for Los Suenos the next morning. Will be staying at the Marriott in San Jose as well and will provide everyone with an update on their guest policy. Also, any classy strip joints to consider should we decide to waste money early in the trip?

Hi Mike Reynolds,

Actually IMHO the best time to surf the DR/BM/kl is around 2 or 3 in the AM.

Which is probably about the time you will hit ground zero. Lots of talent and anything over $60 for 3 or 4 hours is over the top for 10+ talent.

Later in the small hours is always best as you get the cream of the crop that are beginning to discount as the night is quickly evaporating.

The BM used to have a one shot up the elevator policy for the lovely ladies. As far as I know that is still in effect so DATY is always an option.

Others on the board will know better than this greeeeenhorn...

Speaking of Green, who remebers the Green door?
