Thx again man. I really appreciate it. I'm really anxious as is.

Your question posed :

"Why do you ask to keep the paycheck for services rendered? Also, should I be asking them for some form of ID?"

I'm guessing you're responding to this statement I made :

"Try to keep the paycheck for services rendered 40 mil or less, but if you see one that is amazing, you're still earning an American paycheck I suppose, pay the cien but with conditions. I always say "I'll pay you x but if you do these things well, I'll add y." Don't EVER pay upfront."

I'm in finance 30 plus years, that's industry jargon/slang, using the word "paycheck", lol. What I mean is no matter how you handle yourself with confidence, an experienced chica will smell you out as a newbie and try to overcharge.

So what I was saying was keep the price for services rendered in that range, most smart chicas will accept this offer.

I myself, years ago, when vacationing and earning an American "paycheck", meaning my working income (and USA expenses) was quite a bit larger than my retirement income, I now enjoy, so I didn't think anything of paying $100 (cien) for an exceptional great looker if I got a good vibe from her.

At that time a c note was chicken feed to me, and I always dished out apx $800 to $1,000 just to get here, hotel and misc expenses, why arm wrestle with one you're crazy for over $20 or $30 when I had 5 days tops, sometimes since I was in S. Florida, 2 to 3 day weekends.

Now that I live here, on my retirement income, and am in no hurry and can unashamedly walk away from any chica negotiation, I have time on my hands to do multiple interviews and find still magnificent hotties who will come over to my place for 30 to 40 mil tops. It's unlikely I will ever pay cien again.

However, since you're a tourist still with a USA working income, and you spent a small fortune just to get here, don't be afraid to spend big BUT ONLY if you find one that is incredible looking AND you get a great vibe from her, but don't immediately accept the $100 request from a mousy little average looking girl.

Next question : "Also, should I be asking them for some form of ID?"

Answer : Probably unnecessary at SL since they have a strict visitation policy with chicas, they get checked out beforehand, and HDR as well, but HDR, any new girl can walk in immediately and flash a fake I.D. if it really looks like them, they can use their sisters or friends or cousins I.D. at HDR and have a greater chance of getting in, but I don't believe it's a big problem.

I myself prefer obvious "mujeres", i.e., "women" and am not a big fan of giggly young tiny teen-age looking spinners, so the issue doesn't confront me often. My two current faves are early to mid 20's, one's 5'9", and both are tight body muscular girls, I'm an ex joc and that's one of my things, I prefer a good size girl who can handle a hard pounding, lol.

I guess it couldn't hurt if you picked one that looked extremely young, I might even recommend against, there's too many gorgeous "women" available, if you're new and inexperienced here, why take the chance? :?:

In any event, the majority of these girls are between 20 and 30, and even most of the gorgeous 20 year olds show signs of aging after ffffff-in' for colones for years...

You are going to have a life changing time, I know I did. Best advice other than what netgems has already mentioned is do not be afraid to say NEXT!!!!. There will be lots of pussies around that are trying to separate you from your hard earned dollars, so if one gives you an off vibe, don't chance it and say next..... You are not going to run out of opportunity, at least I never did. The sooner you can get a handle on why you are there, and why they are there, you will be more at ease with yourself and them. It is not like trying to get laid in the states, and can be a ton of fun just in the hunt part of it. One last snippet make sure before you go out the first night to clean the pipes.

Hold up, you can take the HLH girls back to your hotel? I had no idea! I was always renting a room at HLH when I was only a few blocks away at SL.

That said, maybe it's worth it to pay the room fee. That walk up the hill from HLH to SL is STEEP. I'd hate to do that multiple times a day. I'm a big man, gravity is not my friend.

I'm wondering where I'll take girls from SL... I'll obviously be traveling from Ajuela to SL so it'd have to be somewhere close by...

Yeah... when your making good money and can dish out 1k plus for a week in paradise its okay... when your a little older you realize that money could likely have been utilized differently.... maybe you didn't need to spend the extra cash on "x"... it's okay to walk away... but you've lived it and now your here. I can definitely see myself here... I've always wanted an eco friendly place... as i eluded to before having the option for companionship is always a benefit...

I wish i could come more often.

I've got 30k stashed and considering investing here. Not sure what property values are like yet... haven't done any research...

Don't. This country is a disaster economically. And cheating gringos is a national art.

I'm a finance guy. Ditto the brilliant and quick recommendation from MM3. :D

I always advise people, unless you're loaded, and I mean 7 figures, don't buy any "investment" here other than poontang, souvenirs, food, medicine, necessities, frivolities...the most expensive thing you should buy here is your favorite girls boob job, a urologists fee in your old age to allow you to keep getting woodies, or a 10 year old Japanese car...If you're loaded, I guess a condo in Sabana or Escazu in an established building and a new car is ok, but other than that, buyer beware...

Put your 30k in a Schwab account or whatever you want to invest in in the USA, USA economy is strong and looks to remain so for at least a year or 2, perhaps some conservative stocks, mutual funds, maybe take 5k out of that for fun exciting risky investments, no more than that, but CR's economy is beneath the scenes "teetering" and a new person with a fat bundle is a prize pinata here, sooner or later some Tico or Tica will burst it and gather up the treats... :x :x :x

Also...let this be the last time you mention to even fellow gringos your available money, surprisingly, not all fellow gringos here are benevolent, I've been approached numerous times with offers of fat investments earning well above 10% and no risk. "Just give that money to me" they say, "I'll take care of this great opportunity for you..."

As a finance guy, I practice what I preach. I never discuss my holdings publicly, privately, even with or possibly especially with family and friends...

Everyone I know is totally unaware of my millions in assets. Of colones....

More sage advice from Netgems. I am fortunate that I have a tica that actually looks out for my money. We just recently purchased a 16 year old car that was brought in from the USA and has relatively low miles at 115K. The car buying experience here is a bit comical as you will see tons of high mile cars with like new prices. Also they do not do a lot of preventative maintenance for anything, houses, cars, pu*sy, anything, so it really is buyer beware. The salespeople looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked what the miles were on the cars. The impression I got was "why are you asking" that is a stupid question. I Carfaxed all of them as almost every one was imported from USA, and some had issues that even the salesperson did not know about or care about. But it looks good is basically what they care about. A few were salvage titles and came from areas with flooding problems. Buying any major purchase in Costa Rica means do not rely on anyone to look out for your best interests as they just want a share of your $$$. Buying property if you are not going to be living in it the majority of the time would be highly unrecommended as you will be setting yourself up for being robbed while gone.

TY too.
